    99 C2 Cab Ocean Blue/Savannah/Black
  1. Thanks for the reply Tobler. It's not a resonance issue, it's more of a wispy, air movement type of sound, like exhaust is escaping somewhere. It definitely goes away after the engine is hot, as if the expanded metals close the offending gap. I found there is an exhaust manifold gasket, and a manifold to cat pipe gasket. I wonder if these begin to leak over time. My car is 7 years old now.
  2. I have a 99 Cab with PSE. As we all know, when driving with the top down, and along a wall or fence, you can hear the PSE quite well. When first driving the car (cold start), the sound seems to include what I can only describe (for a lack of better terms) as an exhaust leak, as if there was a exhaust manifold problem or a muffler can problem. It seems to go away after the engine is fully hot. And I don't notice it when not adjacent to wall or similar surface. Does this make any sense? Is it possible for a manifold leak to exist and to be louder when cold than when warm? The manifold it
  3. I have a horn gone bad also. Where are they located in the car? Easy to replace? Thanks
  4. The front left corner of my drivers seat cushion apparently is loose, as it moves up and down under hard acceleration. I can rock the seat bottom with my hand on the front left corner. These are full power memory seats in a 99 c2. The passenger seat is tight. Does anyone have a link or instructions regarding removal of the seat so that I may try to find what is loose? Anyone had a similar problem?
  5. Conclusions: The 21 indeed has superceded the 19, and can in fact be installed on the 3.4. Took me about 90 minutes. You must take the mounting plate from the stock muffler and install on the PSE muffler. Then you must bend the inlet pipe to mate to the cat pipe. The inlet has a "bellows" to enable adjustments.
  6. I have since found that the "19" you speak of is for cars up to 07/01, and that the kit I received is the "21" for cars built after 07/01. Brandywine says the 19 has been superceded by the 21 and that the 19 is no longer available, and that they are installing 21's on 3.4's. I don't know that I believe that. One of my local dealers has a 19 in stock, and I'm trying to get them to swap it out.
  7. I purchased a PSE kit from Brandywine, and received part # 000-044-200-21 BAY 3 EXHAUST SY. The mounting studs on the bracket on the side of the muffler do not match the ones on the existing muffler. The single stud is farther apart from the other two studs. So, I put the mounting bracket from the original muffler on the PSE muffler and installed it only to find that the pipe that connects to the cat doesn't align. Are there different kits for the 3.4 and 3.6? Brandywines initial response is *Not to our knowledge*. Help! By the way Loren's DIY instructions are perfect.
  8. coming from the area of the hvac vent. I have removed the vent and looked for any obvious loose items and found none. The rattle is at low to moderate speeds over low to moderate bumps. Any ideas or possible solutions? Thanks.
