  1. I had the PSE on my 996 with the switch. I just installed it on my 997 without the switch. Why? Because I never switched it off on the 996! Save the money and leave the wiring off, unless you live in a neghborhood where you are likely to get stoned for having a Porsche that sounds like a real sports car. :D
  2. I, too, would love to modify the programming of my 2004 996 Cab Tip to behave as it does during the warm up sequence, where it starts in first gear and holds lower gears to higher rpm instead of shifting at 1500. Clearly it is doable. Further, the 997 tips have a sport mode, which accomplishes this. I have asked two dealers and they responded that there is nothing that can be done. I don't believe it, as there are many reprogramming processes available for Audis and VWs, which probably use the same software Randy, 2004 Cab Tiptronic
