  1. Thanks. I am switching onto summer tires this week and will have them measured.
  2. Thanks, I just pulled out the inspection sheet and there are no measurements. Not for rotors or pads. And it doesn't even mention that they need to be done. Just an estimate for the work. It is not required to do the rotors unless they are too thin then? It just might affect the wear monitor timing afterwards?
  3. I was told that the frt brakes are due to be replaced in about another 10000KMS. They have quoted me for pads and rotors and new sensors (light not on at this time). I asked if it was necessary to replace rotors and they said it is recommended by Porsche. Are they just upselling me? My appointment is Monday.
  4. So, I have read about the eventual failure of the "brilliant" in-dash cup holder. Only I didn't expect mine to crunch as I opened it and the faceplate to fall off in my hand. -of course it also had to leave a little rubbed blemish on the dash too. The interior mechanism works, with the occasional sticking. I can deal with that. The faceplate looks as if it just needs to be glued back in place. My dealer won't do it. They want me to buy the whole mechanism at $300+. If I try to slide the faceplate (the tab into the slot) it is tight and might need a tap into place. But there is a dial type mechanism with teeth that needs to line up too. Which position does this dial start in? Does anyone have instructions? Its a 2003 boxster. Help a girl out please?
  5. I figured as much. And $16 to ship, not excessive at all. Ok, so there is an old topic on this where Badcow found a way to make the driving lights work. So the question, anyone done it, had any problems and do the main beams still turn on with the switch? I really don't want the main beams on all the time as I was told the headlamp plastic will turn color over time and the bulbs burn out much faster. QUOTE: This mod seems to activate the main beams (second position of light switch). Anyone know how to only activate the parking beams (first position of light switch)? --- Tom Maybe kind of late, but if anyone is still interested, I did it today. Use the instructions at the link above and make the changes as below. I changed the wiring. I made a "Y" with two female connectors wired into one female connector. I used 3 fuse taps, 3,4 & 6. See the picture. This turns on the side markers and the front running lights when the ignitition is on without using the headlight switch. 6. Hi, I found this mod on Ebay Daytime running mod from Europa Auto Parts. Anyone buy this? Or is it the same as the hack that can be found in the forums? I really want something that will turn on the driving lights (position 1) rather than the main beams. Another question, anyone have any problems with the hack? I have no problems doing it, as long as I don't end up frying something else. :P Thanks for helping a newb!
