  1. Thanks for the input. I will definitely try that. If I understand you correctly, the extension just mounts the sensor an inch or so further away from the center of the exhaust pipe. Right? Sounds like a simple stainless steel pipe threaded male to fit the original sensor mounting point and threaded female to accept the sensor itself should do. Are there any pre made parts for this that you know of?
  2. I installed a the Fabspeed mufflers, cats with cross pipe a year ago last November 2010. The Fabspeed dyno showed 367hp at the wheels with torque of 305. I'm generally happy but they obviously never saw a GT3 before mine. The cats had to be custom fitted. The only problem I've had involves the O2 sensors. On the track - no problem. Two days on the street and the CEL is on. Always the O2. Replaced the sensors with new OEM and the same thing. Funny how it's always OK on the track and OK on the street for a day or so. A year or so before the install the car was on another dyno from PowerTech at Pocono and showed 327hp at the wheels. (Dyno was maxed out at something like 6500-7000 rpm.) Only upgrade at that time as a B&M filter.

    CEL Help!

That was a better question than you might think. I checked my invoice and there are no sensors on it. I cannot imagine my shop missing that cost but I need to check. I was sure we put new ones in but it seems only the cats were replaced. I'll get back to you. Thanks, Warren

    CEL Help!

Well the "break" took longer than expected because the computer was dead. The codes are: PO430 Porsche fault code 45 - catalytic converter efficiency bank 2 PO420 Porsche fault code 40 - catalytic converter efficiency bank 1 Thanks, Warren

    CEL Help!

I knew that would be asked as soon as I wrote this. I don't remember well enough to say for sure. I think maybe I'll take a "smoke" break and go check. Be back soon. Thanks.

    CEL Help!

Good morning all - I have virtually the same problem. The exhaust system on my car is FabSpeed headers, cats, mufflers. Just replaced the cats under warranty. Replaced the 4 O2 sensors and checked wiring. Was able to avoid CEL long enough to pass NJ emissions inspection. Spent almost 8 hours on track over two days at the Glen with no problem. Spent 30 minutes in traffic today, just like mjp911, and on comes the CEL. The computer indicates O2 sensors which can be reset. My next thought is that the system is not hot enough and I'm tempted to wrap the headers just to see. Comment?
  7. CLORD - Thanks for getting back. I am in the process of replacing the guts of the diff to get closer to what's needed at the track. This car sees between 20 and 24 track days a year so I'm guessing the Nm test will come out at zero. The clutch needs to be replaced as well. So it's a good time to do it all. Your post prompted me to look around much more and will be going to a real racing diff or close to it. I'll put up with it for the little street time it sees. Not sure what ramp ratio we'll be going with. (Not doing this work myself.) Regards, Warren
  8. Good afternoon. If you were to rotate one rear wheel while the car was in the air and the opposite wheel did not rotate, would that mean the diff is shot? Thanks, Warren
  9. I had this posted on Rennlist: I thought it would be interesting to post these results of upgrades I just did on my 04 GT3. (Known in NJ as GT3 RR) BMC Air filter = RWHP 326 on Powertech Dyno (two years ago) Fabspeed Mufflers (plus above) = RWHP 336 RWTorque 273 on WINPEP Dyno Fabspeed Sport Cats with X pipe (plus above) = RWHP 349 RWTQ 281 Fabspeed FIA headers (plus above) = RWHP 367 RWTQ 305 Does anyone know what this might convert to for "at the crank" numbers? I've heard 15% to 18% loss on the GT3. The results sound nice and throttle response is a bit better. Not sure on how much quicker it actually is. We'll see this spring on the track. Thanks, Warren __________________ Warren Pushaw 04 GT3 RR
