  1. The first pre-release Gateway 500s (~1.5 year ago) was mainly developed on a 2003 Cayenne PCM1. It had a MOST optical bus, but the fiber optic cables were made by Yazaki and not Tyco (all cars nowadays uses Tyco cables/connectors). For this reason Dension offers a Yazaki->Tyco optical conversion kit. Anyway the functionality will be the same as on PCM2 or PCM2.1.
  2. Could you please ask the one who installed your Gateway, whether he used permanent 12V or switched 12V? Has he followed the Install Manual, and used Installation Type 2? Is the Gateway box installed in the boot or behind the head unit?
  3. I also feel that it is an installation mistake, but don't know what, yet. The blue led helps a lot, usually.
  4. I suggest you to update to 2.08. It's not a time-consuming procedure and the 2.08 works much better than 2.02.
  5. So when it is in GW mode (the switch on the black AUX box is set to the filled circle position), the LED blinks and then goes off after some seconds? When it is in bypass mode (switch is on the empty circle position), the LED blinks continously and the CDC/Amp is working?
  6. With one switch you can turn Dension Gateway to bypass mode in one second. It will restore the original state of the MOST ring, and your Amp and CD changer should work correctly. Are they working ok then? If yes, then you have a faulty Gateway panel, ask replacement from the dealer/installer.
  7. The latest version is 2.07 (2.05 is currently available on homepage). You can try to update and see if the problem is still there. You can also check the blue LED on the AUX-box. If the Gateway is running, then it will emit light continously. If the Gateway was crashed, the blue LED will flash during reboot. It is also flashing when the CDC is selected.
  8. V3 is the HW revision of Gateway 500. (Its written on the bottom of the metal box). Check install instructions on: http://support.dension.com/downloads/Gatew...stall_Guide.pdf (Type 2 refers to the typical installation with dual optical connectors.)
  9. That's ok, but if you have V3 panel, you can simply connect the second optical port back to the original changer, so you won't loose CDC functions.
  10. Hi! When the Gateway is in bypass position the original ring configuration is restored, so the CD changer should be recognized in all cases. If not, it must be an installation mistake. The first question is more interesting. The Gateway simulates a CD changer, so if the iPod is playing, basically there will be two CD Changers present in the system. Because of the extra device on the MOST ring, some head units cannot handle this situation and "forgets" to ask the last device on the ring (which is the phone in many cases). You have to increase the number of known devices with Porsche service/diagnostic tool. The Gateway 500 from V3 HW revision has smarter solution for this: it has two fiber optic connectors. If the Gateway is playing that will be the only CDC device on the MOST ring. And in bypass mode it will let through the light towards the real Changer, restoring the original configuration. No extra device on the ring, no need for programming, because the CDC is simply swapped by the iPod.
  11. Hi! Do you have the latest SW version on your Dension Gateway?
  12. The number of tracks in tracklist is limited. Imagine, if getting 30 song names from iPod takes about 2-3 secs, and users typically have some hundred artists and some thousands of songs. If you don't use paging it would be very slow. Anyway, there's an option to increase or decrease the size of the pages. (It needs a special config file to be placed onto a USB stick).
  13. Hi! You can search for a song, if you know its initial letter: - Choose Disc 6, Menu. - Select the folder "Songs" and press seekFW on it. - Press seekFW on the first item "ABC-SEARCH" - Select the inital letter and press seekFW on it. - Then you will see only the songs starting with that letter This helps a lot when searching for a song.
