  1. Watch out, it uses a hard wired FM modulation to hook into the audio system, you have to tune to a station to listen. A little expensive for that type of solution when you can buy the parts for $30 except for the neat interface box
  2. Pretty sure that the fiber (orange) connection is broken. Have you taken anything apart ? The BOSE amp is in the back drivers side (above the CDC and runs up to the PCM. I have heard this before quite a few times for that MY and others. Sometimes to tight a bend on the fiber can give out. Dealer job if you dont know of anything that could have disturbed it. Mike
  3. Yes, your version of DME is wrong. It could be that the DME unit itself needs to be replaced also. All of this should have been done under warranty (mine was) I had the same problem you describe for the first year until they got there act together.
  4. Well you will have to accept the turbo related electronics will be surplus, the dash will be impacted There will be some need to reprogram the computers so PIWIS will be required
  5. engine management will be a problem, whats your project, replace a blown engine ?
  6. OK got it back today, just over 3 weeks Seems fine I will post the bill when I am near a scanner Drives well, 4 wheel alignment most likely helps
  7. UPDATE 3 weeks, still awaiting parts from Germany

  10. Unswitched. MOST bus items start better if the have power directly available. the bus boots better Out of curiosity, what would 17 drivers side be if you did have a CD changer? Switched or unswitched? Thanks for contributing to the thread mudman2.
  11. Thats normal. The first time you do it you don't realise just how hard to hit them.
  12. if the tab broke its no sweat really but if its clear of the clip it will pull apart, its tight.
  13. You can get them anywhere. About $100 for fronts Mudman, Do you have a good supplier for the rotors and pads? A
  14. 1 - I use Hawk dustless pads now 2 - very carefully, bend the u clip attached to the strut and squeeze it out then pull it apart while sliding a small flat bladed driver ito the clip
  15. If your on a pre 08 then 42 drivers side should be ok for switched, if you do not have a CD changer then 17 drivers side is unswitched.
  16. let us know how that works out for you :)
  17. The settings are buried in the PCM menus, check the manual
  18. On the passenger side, get your head down in the footwell and look up and to the left, there are 2
  19. Either your car needs an oil change or it was changed and the service indicator was not reset As mentioned in my original post, I did read the manual before posting. I actually spent several hours last night and today just learning all the features since I'm a car nut, but I just didn't find these specific issues addressed.
  20. Thanks RFM I appreciate your replies very much Is it possible to repair this myself ?
  21. Does that mean a complete new strut ? Also what is the cause ?
  22. Dealer reports that the drivers side airstrut blew the "airbag out", his words "there was shrapnel everywhere". Parts are in Germany so it will be a few days, estimating $1800 to rebuild the strut. Best part is that all parts of the Air Suspension are covered by my extended warranty EXCEPT the airsprings themselves Car has never been off road except for sand a long time ago, mostly light duty cycle. RFM ever heard of this ? Mike
  23. I have an 04 S, at 77K I bought an extended warranty, phew What model/year Cayenne you sportin'?
  24. So a week ago it showed the error then after 6 restarts its ok, after 800 miles it failed in a different way I heard some strange occasional knocking noises from the front then the front went to loading level or lower while the rear stayed up. Same error "Air Susp Error" In the shop awaiting the good news
