  1. We all had this in some form back then. The main cause was that dealers did not know how to set them up. Many came from the plant with bad alignment, bad cardan shafts and poorly mounted tires. After the dealers got the hang of things this mostly disappeared. The main cause IMHO was the need for road force balancing on a Hunter machine. Mine has been solid since then but I make sure the dealer fits the tires.
  2. WP1AB29P94LA64602 TIA
  3. I have lost a headlamp on the highway totaly gone destroyed HID and all cost 720 for the lamp assembly and 160 for my HID :( which junction ?
  4. No that was not available until 05/06
  5. I bought a kit at 8000K, very nice. The whole kit fits inside if the light unit so no leaking gromets. I do not get any alarms on the dash, but I did up the fuse to 20a to cover startup load. Wish I had done it years ago.
  6. the movement to the lock position is very small but there is a perceptible click when it does. This is the first slider I have heard of so I can't help on the price, perhaps Loren can supply the part numbers.
  7. Dental floss also works I did it. The original emblem fixed by adhesive tape. I removed emblem by using :)) expired credit card. It does not leave scratches. Good luck!
  8. seems like it would be possible but you never know with these p-cars There is a lot of differences between the 2 engines to enable the block to handle the turbos. It will not work
  9. The plastic mailnly but you will have to move the alacantra a bit
  10. They are located above the rear roof trim, it just pulls off. Word has it that you need to prop the hatch as its very heavy otherwise a straight forward job
  11. Which HID kit did you buy ?
  12. I agree, my mObridge unit is the bomb I would start here> http://www.mobridgeinc.com/content/view/22/67/
  13. if its an early 04 , i.e. april 03 - oct 03, walk away If its later than that make sure you get a CPO or factor in a third party warranty as there are many issues with the 03/04, less with 05 less still with 06. Mainly electrical gremlins, transmission module changes and updates to cure(reduce) drive by wire lag issues. The engine is basically rock solid, the transmission on later 04 models are better from the point of view of reduced(never eliminated) hesitation. Misc things like the rear hatch glass opening by themselves, badly set up alignment, Drive Shaft (Carden Shaft) failure, remote controls having no range, wiper blades of bad quality, all of which should have been taken care of by the dealer when serviced but you never know. On top of that dont forget the designed oil consumption on the TT of about 1 ltr every 1500 miles or so. I am sure I missed some stuff and others an chip in.. If well looked after from new by a good dealer its most likely a good car but it could also be VERY bad if out of warranty. Check the TSB's listed here and you will get the picture. By the way i have an 04 S and I am still thrilled to drive it even with all the crap I had to go thru (first name terms with all the mechanics at the dealer)
  14. Apart from the lock cylinders jumping out and being a little fiddly to put back all is now fixed and works so much better now Thanks again
  15. Soon I am expecting a beta in December ive had the nav-tv unit, had it replaced a few times before finally tossing it. have the mobridge unit now.....SO much better than the nav tv unit. clear crisper sound, more songs listed per page (i think its around 99 as opposed to 20 or 30 on the navtv unit), and no hang ups so far. navtv unit kept freezing, not being recognized, etc etc etc etc etc etc.... i LOVE the mobridge unit ! Any word on bluetooth for the mobridge unit yet? That would make it even more appealing.
  16. Makes sense. I have not put the new one in yet, but is there any trick to changing the lock over ?
  17. Glove Box Lock Mechanism -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This failed on my 04. I thought omg this is going to cost $$. So imagine my suprise when the part cost $15. (955 52 127 01) There is obviously a bad batch out there and the supplier has replaced them for free. If you have any suspicion about the lock get a new one while stocks last I am this will not last.
  18. Thanks Loren, what a cheap design ! it "barely" works when its not damaged.
  19. OK I got it open, boy it was fiddly. The lockiong mechanism at the glovebox end is broken and I think the lock end of the cable is also gone. Can you give me the part numbers for both assemblies please ?
  20. What if the box is closed and will not open ?
