  1. Nothing you have said sounds out of wack. The foglights are a royal pain to change as the procedure involves taking the front off your car Apart from a few $ here and there its about right
  2. Porsche's phone kit sends audio only to the passenger side speaker, you cannot hit the amp of the Bose with an analogue signal to my knowledge, there is a work around to hit the rightside speaker but I dont know how. Most people use the supplied speaker. Okay so i have ewverything connected and working the only issue is there is a HUGEEEE i cant stress that enough HUGE humm on the speakers from the connection it is unbareble anyone else have this problem?
  3. to big for 17 wheels, gain nothing but looks yes i was going to change them to the OEM TURBO CALIPERS..no good?
  4. This might help "just finished the install. It's a piece of cake! I got all the power (switched and unswitched), the ground, and radio mute from the phone connector that was hiding behind the cubby bin (all US & Can cars have it apparently). The Becker cable plugs right into the back of the radio and connects to the audio out of the phone kit via a phono jack. I just snipped the wire from the supplied speaker, soldered a male phono plug (Radio shack) and it all works like a charm! Radio mutes when a call is made or recieved and can be heard through the right side speaker and the radio displays "phone". I'm not sure where I want the mic, but for now it's attached with double sided tape to the steering column... Level of difficulty out of 10: 2-3 Time: 30-60mins (most of it on tidying up the miles of wires that come with the kit) But this might help you more link
  5. They will not last much longer if you change the type, I would stick with the oem
  6. Very interesting, how did you handle the cabin controls ? How many hrs did it take and whats your cost including dealer work ? A lot of people will want to do this. Any warning indicators on the dash when you were done ? Mike
  7. Sorry to say but no, you are talking a large rewiring job, if the dealer did it expect $5k
  8. Unlock the car and enter, close the door. Insert key but do not turn. Wait 30 seconds. Remove key, lock car unlock and test. I find this works for a number of situations including but not limited to 1 - Bose amp not producing sound 2 - Nav boot issues, like not being able to read the CD (03/04/05) 3 - Apparent lost comfort settings
  9. Unless someone has a third party unit , I would trade your car in for one that has it, it will cost you as much to have it fitted and wired. The Cayenne has VIN specific wiring (to save weight ..sic) so a major comfort control unit, wiring and dealer PIWIS programming will be required. I am guessing $3k minimum
  10. This cannot be done without a major control unit and antenna system and wiring change, many $$ The new key has separate buttons for opening and closing of the doors.Porsche one button remote key is one of the most annoying things on my CTT Totally Agree!
  11. I asked my dealer a long time ago. They would not even give me an estimate, there is a parts list thats very long and re wiring out the wazoo. Good luck. Why dont you just change the bulbs for bright white or trade it in for an equipped car. I went for Air but could not get lights with air. Air is better than lights imho.
  12. To my knowledge this has not been done, there are way to many differences between the setup for halogen and the bi-xenon. Although Toby can speak for himself I am pretty sure it did not work (he would have said something if it had) toby ? Mike
  13. Just a sober note before we all blow it. Porsche Lawyers Interrogatories in any warranty/lemon issue are VERY specific about engine DME changes.
  14. 03s and some 04s were fitted with the wrong Cardan Shaft (main drive shaft) this resulted in a low frequency sound in that speed range. If you say the word "wummering" 3 times fast that sort or period and it matches the sound your hearing then thats what it is. Dealer should change under warranty it is a known issue
  15. I do not own a TT but I know a few people who do. There is a view that reduced back pressure is bad for a TT, possiblt true. The car in the example had a GIAC ship fitted by Sharkworks, BMC Air Filters and Fabspeed Cat Bypass Pipes. Basically that TT out performs the stock Turbo S. All I can say about the Bypass Pipes is that the engine seems faster on pickup, more free revving (I also have BMC filters )on my S (sorry spool was a bad choice of words) others with TT's have said the same. My deduction is that a Chip/DME and Filters/Exhaust would make your TT S very powerful. :clapping:
  16. Here is an example, assume 25-27% transmission loss on the numbers.
  17. There is little to gain from ECU changes on an S model, on the TT however its most definitley worth it, I know people running at over 530hp and 540ftlbs. I have the pipes on my S and the gain is most noticeable, especially on spool up, the noise is also a great improvement tho' not as good as CatBack systems I have heard. On the TT both things are true. HP Loss and seat of the pants feel. Spool up is better from the standstill but overall HP dynos down. Multiple tests done on the left coast confirm this but people still like the feel. I have the dyno results on one TT, but they were done with GIAC fitted so its not really an acid comparison. Unfortunately the TT pipes will not fit an S so the free offer from Peanuts is no good for you. Peanuts if the offer is still going I can find someone who wants them if you like. Peanuts, can you give me more info on the ECU reprogram? is yours a TT or not? Mudman, can you give me more info on your exp. with the S model ECU or cat bypass? I drove a Turbo and I am not too sure that it is worth the money as the HP is really not usable on the street unless you are into drag racing. the lag was a bit of a pain while on the twisties. how about some opinions and thoughts.
  18. Ignore those 2 nuts, they are like a pair upset high school girls. Don't put cat bypass pipes on a TT but yes on an S. Fabspeed are fine duk just has an embarrasing story which he blames everyone except himself.
  19. The active suspension does use the air springs to control attitude, reaction times are better than analogue (steel springs) as it uses force and motion sensors to predict action / reaction. It does lean into the curve as you describe. The Porsche Cayenne Technick is a great book which describes its operation. The raise lower function is seperate. Its slalom type manouvers it thrives for such a beast.
  20. So you sent back a used pipe and got a used pipe back, sounds like a fair trade to me considereing they were obviously wrong, and you should have seen it, I cant understand how you got them on. Its not like its decorative. Quit griping, its very boring.
  21. Never had a problem, you sure you have them on the right way around, did you get the top bolt ok ? it may be lose and its a ***** Fabspeed have always been very helpfull, the pipes are jig built so they are consistant in shape I would pay an exhaust shop $50 to take a look on a lift and tighten the bolts up. Hello, I have the Fabspeed sport exaust, free flow cats and chip and cold air intake. Very happy with them but I never did any of the installation. I have freinds that track with the bypass pipes and they have never mentioned a problem with fit. Did you do the work yourself? They make it sound easy on their site. By the way the Cats will give you about 12 HP and more torque but they are a bit louder. I love the sound but some think it is too much. The headers will give same gains with no change in sound. By the mods you have done to the car it seems you wouldnt mind a bit more sound. Post a pic of your car if you can.. Would love to see the 22's and the body kit. Hope this was of some help. Take care
  22. Hi Brian, I have installed the Sirius equivelant of the XM commander. My gallery has lots of photos from the install. Feel free to browse around, email me if you have questions. My Webpage Mike
  23. No George this is a very pronounced misfire which you can feel and hear.
