  1. Loren. is there a procedure for removing the side trim panels and headliner ?
  2. I have been real happy with mine, I am still thinking about getting the Fabspeed muffler also to deepen it even more. I will put my videos up and post links to them
  3. Unfortunately there is no mod available yet that will take the iPod directly into the system. The only real option for now is an FM Modulator similar to the ones they use to fit after market CD Changers. I have one fitted to my S. Fitting an FM Modulator Mounting iPod Hope these help
  4. What you probably heard was the baffles on the stock muffler. I have a video of my S with the bypass pipes on full bore from a standstill taken from behind. Fabspeed have video on their website also
  5. Sorry for the late reply, been on travel. Due to space I am getting the Kenwood KCA-R71FM / KTC-SR903 combination. This will allow me to mount the tuner somewhere out of the way and only have a dash mounted controller visible. here is a link to the unit Sat Rcvr Thanks Loren I will check the TSB out. Hi Mudman, I recently purchased a Delphi Skyfi2 and temporarily have it rigged with a "cupholder" mount and magnet antenna on the front center speaker grill. I want to install it permanently and will also try to put the antenna into the spoiler. I'll be following your progress with great interest. Out of curiosity what kind of radio did you get and where are you planning to mount it? Loren, thanks for the pointer to the TSB. - 356driver <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  6. I am planning this and looking for any drawings or picture of the rear spolier wiring, cable routing and interior trim panel removal. I will create a photographic log for others. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Its been nearly a week since the 05 module was fitted to my CS. During that time I have done commuting, long haul freeway and town driving, here are my impressions. First of all the change in performance with the PSM off is quite staggering. The aggression is obvious from the D1 start all through the range. I never could get a D1 start before the change, M1 yes, apart from the cold start scenario. With PSM on I do notice quite a change to the behavior of the transmission, it seems more inclined to change down than before in response to gas pedal imput in the 40-55 speed range. It does change down faster if you floor it than it did before, I think that response is more like my MB in that respect, but there is still a wind-up. When floored the revs start to climb quickly but there is still a slight delay before the tranny drops a gear or 2. I think they are using revs instead of G force to change down ( I am not an expert in this but this is my engineering view) All of this happens in a fraction of a second but the delay between revs climbing and the change down is still notciable. The main things I was concerned with were the 90 degree cornering at low speeds (45 mph into the turn 25 mph out of the turn) and the sprint response joining freeways / autobahn's etc The S still does not change down to 2 on the corner, leaving you in a torque no-mans land with the engine fighting to respond to the gas pedal in 4 or 3 when its obvious that it should be 2. Again I do not think the Cayenne has a G force setup to sense the condition and force the logical change. Its a heavy car without gearing help the engine cannot do it alone. I did not experience the sprint "death" problem at all during my testing, its too early to say but it may be gone, I will let you know if it does happen. If you have specific questions let me know.
  8. My first drive this morning with the updated auto trans control unit installed. Parts Used 955-618-022-02 Control Unit. Tans Procedures 37010000 - Tiptronic ODB 37301900 - Transmission Control Module Removed and Reinstalled Initial impressions 1 - When PSM turned off transmission now switches to D1. 2 - With PSM off, Aggressive changes, higher rev mapping. 3 - All Changes much smoother (significant change) 4 - On the 90 degree corner test at 45mph, 3 still the lowest gear selected with PSM on, will try later with PSM off Next Tests this afternoon 1 - Straight line freeway speed kick down 2 - Merging onto freeway 3 - acute angle turns with kick down Seems a step in the right direction.
  9. The 05 Controller has arrived and will be fitted on the 23rd, I also have the latest DME software loaded to make it compatible with the new controller. I will let you know what happens.
  10. Loren, Gert reports a DME software uodate CD part being released for install using PIWIS, version 3.1. Said to include major remapping.
  11. MAV I just related what seems to be the pattern around the country. Armed with that knowlewdge they had tp act. Fortunately I have a good relationship with my dealer and they responded.
  12. Loren I will post more when the job is done, but in brief, ...the dealer has been directed to replace 3 modules, as you suggested, the DME, Auto Transmission and one other. They had wanted them to use parts from a 2005 S, but the dealer did not have one on the lot, so PCNA are arranging for parts. In addition they ordered replacement Remotes with extended range. Mike
  13. Loren et al I am trying to locate old and new part numbers and the related revised TSB for the Tiptronic controller hardware (under the Passenger seat I think) or any more information related to it. This may be to soon for the actual TSB but the number will do, Thanks
  14. Hi Tommy Thanks for the kind words To answer, I have had zero issues with the O2 sensors, in fact it sailed through PA emissions a few weeks ago, so neither the filters or the secondary cat bypass pipes reduced the effectiveness of the emission control. 2 - There is a quote on the BMC site, which I verified with my dealer, they use them on some of the sport cars. Dealer had no issue with my fitting them. I still have the same feeling that it revs free'er than it does with the stock filters, others post tech info to the contrary and I don't know enough other than to say I think they do make a difference. I will be doing their first cleaning in a few weeks. Good Luck
  15. Loren, can you ID the part number for the control unit which is mounted in the RHS rear compartment of the Cayenne. I think its connects to the CAN bus to let the systems know a trailer is present. Thanks Mike
  16. Here it is Isn't language a wonderfully confusing thing
  17. Oh dear Whats the description on 28, that might be it (he says hopefully) ? Mike
  18. Actually Loren its the brushed Aluminum on the shifter itself. Wraps around front to back, leather on each side.
  19. V1 fell off window, edge hit the shifter making a HOLE, dammit I need the part number to replace the trim if possible if not the assy. thanks in advance Mike
  20. Thank you so much And once again Merry Christmas Mike
  21. Loren I am told that their is a new Cardan Shaft part number for the Cayenne to cure a bad early batch which suffers from a low frequency vibration/noise between 40 and 60 mph. I would also like to kow where this is located. Is there a way you can access the old and new part numbers ? my dealer is having a hard time with PCA as its not an official issue "yet". As you crank up the miles a soft bearing starts to fail apparently. Thanks and a Merry Christmas to you and yours. Mike
  22. Loren, I saw a Tech /Bulletin - Group 9 6-02 (if that number means anything.) This refers to the OS 3.0 for PCMII. The updater is special order from Germany. My dealer has a $150K 911 special order "something" which came with 3.0 Navtech Data Disks and version 2.0 PCMII so they are really embarrassed right now. I was asked to obtain the latest data disks from Navtech and they have ordered the flash update disk. Navtech reps are instructed to say there is no update for the Cayenne ( the girl told me on the phone), when you tell them that Porsche are updating your system they then say "oh OK its $200 + shipping, be there in 3 days". If you can locate that document I would love to publish on the other boards. Its got a matrix 3/4 the way down with software applicability.
