  1. I personally tried blue-coated bulb and Sylvania SS bulb. The difference is: Blue-coated bulbs may look like HID from a distance, but the visibility and brightness is not as good as Sylvania's SS. Sylvania's bulb is not as white as HID, but the visibility and brightness is much better than aftermarket bulb. It is really up to you. I used blue-coated bulbs for about 3 months then I changed to Sylvania's. The reason is for brightness and visibility.

Hopefully, this can answer some of your question.

  2. Today on the way to lunch in my 99 Boxster 35K miles. The check engine light came on and the engine seems to run rough at low RPM. I have checked the gas cap and it is on tight. Any ideas as to what would cause this? Thanks

    Joel

You can go to Pepboy or Autozone to have the OBD code read out first. After that, you will have better idea of what happened to your lovely Boxster. It is no charge.

  3. So, I have to change regulator?

Is it a easy DIY job? I found a web site teaches how to remove door panel. Before I do that, do you think lubricant will work? Since all other function are OK, I don't know if I should try this first?

Also, I have notice that when the door is open/close, window won't hit the top frame (just barely miss it) even though it won't drop down. So, maybe I shouldn't bother to do anything with it  (I don't know if the function is just for that purpose). If the window drops is just to prevent from hitting the top frame when door is open/close, and if it is a hard DIY job, I think I can live with a malfunctioning window since it won't hit anything now.

  4. Hi:

Just this morning, when I opened the door, the driver side window didn't come down 1/2" to clear the seal. But, when I try to lower/raise the top, the window come down normally. If I push down the window with some force when the door is opened, it will back up when I close it. If I use key to lower/raise the windows, they all work fine. The switch on the center console is normal and can function without problem to move the window. Can anybody tell what kind of problem it is? Is there any easy way to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. That's what I am looking for. But after browsing Homelink's web site, they don't have any visor-switch kind of opener available. And I believe to do this mod is not that difficult if the visor mirror has light on it. Just can't find supply for the button that can be installed in the visor and has a very clean look as the photo shows. I would like to have some information on this too.
