  1. I checked the mObridge site and could not find any reference to Parrot Bluetooth Integration. How does it work with Parrot? Do I need Parrot CK3100/CK3000 along with MULTICAN with mObridge MOST cable? Thanks Dan
  2. There is a product by Parrot which lets you use your steering wheel controls for your Bluetooth based phone using their CK3100 or CK3000 products. Below is the link. Has anyone tried it? http://www.parrot.com/usa/support/installa...ibilite_porsche Thanks Dan
  3. I have a CDR23 that I am planning to replace with the PCM unit. I noticed that there are two types available, one is 2.0 and the other is 2.1 (PCM II?). My questions are: What is the difference between the two? Can I use PCM 2.1 in MY04? Do both support SIM cards? Thanks Dan
  4. Thanks for providing your feedback. I will stick to regular oil changes. Dan
  5. I was reading about different types of engine oils and found a few articles about Ceramic Oil that can be added to the existing engine oil to improve life and gas consumption among other things. Has anyone tried this? Here are two links: http://www.speedtuningusa.com/products/spt..._oil00.html#Oil http://www.americanccf.com/I_Tech%20info%20pg2.htm Any ideas? Thanks Dan
  6. Thanks Stefan for pointing out polarity and wide angle issues. I ordered a pair of 1157 wide angle ones from http://superbrightleds.com/specs/1157-x24.htm for rear tail light and brake light. I also ordered it in Amber for rear turn signal with the load resistor to replace the rear turn signal. I will post the pics hopefully this weekend if they arrive before the weekend. If all goes well, I will order another pair for the other side. I was also thinking about replacing back up light, but I am not sure if it is better to use LEDs in backup light or use something like Xtreme White by PIAA (not sure if they make those in P21W), or install Xenons (HID) with ballasts. Any suggestions? Anyway, my project is going to be: Install LEDs in rear fog lamp, rear tail lights, rear brake lights Install LEDs in rear turn signals Install LED/XTremeWhite/HID in reverse light Install Xenon (HID) in front fog lamps Install Xenon (HID) in cornering lights Install side marker LEDs and replace amber side markers with clear ones Hopefully I will be able to get and post pics as well Thanks Dan
  7. Thanks for posting oil change instructions. I am surprised why your dealer is charging so much for just the oil change. The dealer in my area is charging less than $200 for the oil change (including oil filter, oil, and drain plug, and washers, and labor, etc). The price they qouted you might be for a full service which includes air filter, pollen filter, spark plugs, oil change service and refill of other fluids and checks for belts, etc. Please let me know if that is not the case. I truly support DIY, especially when there is a big price difference. I am not blaming anyone, but it is a good idea to take pics of DIY projects as it helps others a lot (I will be doing this for tail lamp replacement with LEDs and, foglights, and cornering lights replacements with Xenons as soon as I find some free time), as in case of fcien, it would have saved him some hassle if the pics would have been there. But thanks again for posting the instructions. Thanks Dan
  8. I am thinking about replacing tail lights and rear brake lights with LED bulbs and found a few sites selling these LEDs. Anyone tried these or similar replacements? Are these any better or worse once installed? Any other brand or site recommendations? Here are the sites: http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-33240.cfm http://www.superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html Thanks Dan
  9. Thanks for the reply. Are these headlamps or cornering and fog lights that you replaced? I already have HID in my Cayenne and am looking to replace the fog lights and the cornering lights with HIDs. I reciently installed a HID kit that Vertex sells for the Boxster. I ordered the 6000K super white kit. The install was pretty easy and the results are FANTASTIC! The lights look like the high end euro's and the performance is as good as ANY lights out there. Also, the lights look like they belong on the car. Originaly I did this install on the Boxster and I was very happy but when I did it on my wifes Cayenne I must say I was jelous. The kits run for about $250 on Ebay and come with a 1 year warrenty. Just do a serch for Boxster HID. Hope this helps. Regards, Scott
  10. Porsche dealer in my area will change drive belt at 60k mile service but they charge extra $45 for it.
  11. It is required. Go to page 9 of the CayenneMaintenance.pdf file I attached in this discussion.
  12. Thanks for the instructions and the tip. Did you replace the bulbs with Xenon bulbs with ballasts or just ordinary bulbs? I am thinking about changing those ordinary bulbs with Xenons any ideas? Thanks Dan
  13. Hi everyone Has anyone replaced cornering lights and fog lights with xenons (H3 and H11)? I am going to try it out but wanted to know if anyone has tried it or not and if they were successful or not and how easy it was. Thanks Dan
  14. Any suggestions on replacing the tail lamps with something with LED like 08 model tail lamps? Can 08 model tail lamps be installed in MY04 Cayenne S? Any good source for aftermarket tail lamps? Thanks Dan
  15. My car has 55k miles, so there is no factory warranty on it. But I understand what you mean. Thanks Dan
  16. Thanks for providing the OEM part number. Do you know how if it is safe/better to install Bosch Platinum - Ir Fusion plugs instead? Thanks Dan
  17. Ok, looks like the OEM are Double Platinum spark plugs by Denso ( http://www.densoproducts.com/resultsSearch...73&kid=2567 ) part number PK22PR8. I think they are used in most of the Audi cars. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks Dan
  18. I have an 04 Cayenne S which is approaching 60k service and I am going to have the spark plugs replaced. Does anyone know how good Bosch Platinum -Ir Fusion plugs ( http://www.boschautoparts.com/Products/Spa...gs/IrFusion.htm ) are and if they can be used instead of the OEM ones? From the Bosch' website, it seems like they are much better than regular Platinum plugs. Thanks Dan
  19. This is much better! I was looking for some software to keep track of maintenance/service/repair performed on my cars. I think this is a great forum. Thanks Dan
  20. Hi Thanks for the reply. Do you mean 6k or 60k (I assume it was a typo and you meant 60k:)). Anyway, I checked the list with the maintenance/service manual and most of the things are listed there to be replaced at 60k, except for the O2 Sensors which are to be replaced at 100k. I am uploading the maintenance manual I downloaded from Porsche website. Note that the minor and major service for 60k does not list these things (except for oil and filter change), but if you go to page 9 and 10, you will see these things listed there. No service light comes up. Since I bought this used, I was wondering if changing these things 5k miles before the service interval is a good idea or not. Thanks Dan CayenneMaintenance.pdf
  21. Hello everyone I purchased a used 2004 Porsche Cayenne S and this is my first Porsche so this is my first post in this forum. So please pardon me for not knowing all the details and or information regarding the forum and the car. My Cayenne S has about 55k miles and since there is no warranty on it, I was wondering if I should get the 60k mile service done now and would any of you recommend performing the following: Engine Oil and Filter Oil Drain Plug Replace Spark Plugs (Can I use Bosch plugs Platinum Ir Fusion) Spark Plug Wires Replacement (do I need this when I replace Spark Plugs)? Change Brake Fluid Replace Drive Belt (Conti Multi Rib Belt) Replace Tire Sealent Check Airbag System Change Air Filter (would True Flow or K&N make any difference in terms of performance and the life of the engine?) Change Pollen Filter (Bosch C3861 Activated Charcoal Filter)? Oxygen Sensor - OE Type Before Catalyst Right side Oxygen Sensor - OE Type Before Catalyst Left side Oxygen Sensor - OE Type After Catalyst Two required Check all fluid levels, and hoses for leaks, etc I know some of these are recommended at 100k miles (like O2 Sensor), but considering the car is used and has no warranty, would spending extra money to protect it in advance to have a peace of mind worthed or not? Thanks Dan
