  1. When I was placing order for the new Cayenne, I decided not to order the expensive $7k Audio system and $1200 Bose is a waste of money in my opinion. But the factory default system sounds like a 50 year old radio. Anyhow, has anyone replaced factory amp and speakers/sub(if there is any)? If so what do you recommend? Thanks
  2. A friend of mine is considering purchasing a used 2016 CS. Porsche service records show that driver side Intake Manifold gasket was replaced due to leak and Transfer Case was replaced due to known jerking issue. Both were done in 2018. The car has less than 50k miles on it. Should he consider purchasing it considering the gasket replacement? TC is a known issue based on my search. Do any of these have long term side effects that should be considered? What other things should be checked? Thanks
  3. I am finalizing my deal for a new Cayenne. The dealer is trying to sell me maintenance plan for 60 months for $6k that includes scheduled maintenance. And another plan for brake related work for 48 months for about $2800. When I mentioned that I can do most regular maintenance stuff including brakes myself, the lady said that you cannot work on new cars anymore because of so many electronics even in the brake pads and rotors. I find it hard to believe, but better to be safe than sorry. Has anyone done any brake related work on MY20,21? If so, is it really difficult and or expensive? Do these maintenance plans worth it? Thanks
  4. I would like to add that Cardan Shaft bracket tends to go bad every 3-5 years, unless you replace it with a better one, or install a single piece shaft, then it may last longer. Same is the case with rear hatch struts, they go bad after a few years. So even if they work fine now, expect to replace them in next 2-3 years or sooner/later depending on their condition. Not to disagree with hatchetf15, but brakes condition is not something I would reject the car for but will definitely use that to negotiate the price. Expect to replace rotors and pads every year and a half or two depending on your driving habits, so keep that ongoing expense in mind. And as hatchetf15 pointed out, scoring check is critical, along with other points. Coolant reservoir is another thing that breaks, so do make sure it has been replaced. I would not worry too much about coils or plugs as Loren pointed out, they are easy and quick fixes. And if buying a used car that has over 100k miles, I would replace plugs for sure. If cracked, replace coils as well. Replace engine air filters, and cabin air filter, again quick, cheap, and easy, but worth it. Get it checked by a tech who you know and trust, and the one who works on Porsche and has access to PIWIS or has Durametric. Also plan to buy Durametric, if you plan to own this car as it will save you a lot of headaches, and money.
  5. Ignore this. I was able to get the part numbers.
  6. Hi Heidi Thank you! I was able to get the part mumbers from the motors.
  7. Can someone please help me identify matching VW part numbers for the flap actuators for following Porsche parts? 955-624-915-01 955-624-908-01 955-624-906-01 955-624-907-01 955-624-902-01 955-624-905-01 955-624-901-01 These are for MY04 CS Thanks D
  8. Looking for all AC flap motors part numbers with description that are behind the dash for 2004 Cayenne S. Thanks
  9. Hi Loren Is there a TSB for these parts or how do I find out? Dealers deny it, but people mentioned it in other posts.
  10. I replaced left and right front LCAs. The warnings disappears after a few days. But I am wondering if this has anything to do with transfer control motor and control unit. Will have it analyzed at the dealer on Tuesday, but wanted to get my homework done. People mentioned in some older posts that there is a TSB (no TSB number mentioned) for Transfer Case Control motor and the module. When I called the dealer, they said they are not aware of such TSB. Anyway to confirm if there is a TSB for this? Or any reference to such with TSB number?
  11. Looking for part numbers for Transfer Case Motor (955-618–023-05) and Control Module (955-618-025-03) for MY04 Cayenne S. I don’t know if the part numbers I listed are correct and specific to a VIN and if they are latest. Thanks
