  1. Does anyone know if the racelogic traction control works with a 996GT2 engine? The reason for my question is my current project: I'm installing a 996 gt2 engine in a older - heavily reinforced - 911 3.2 chassis. It's a narrow body chassis so i'm somewhat limited with the size of tires and have to look for other ways to control wheelspin... And this is how the racelogic system seems to work: If it detects wheelspin, it reduces power by cutting off the fuel supply selectively, i.e. one cylinder at a time. A more detailed explanation can be found at http://www.racelogic.co.uk/?show=Traction_Control So the question seems to be, does the Motronic 7.8 have a misfire detection? Thats what racelogic's sales manager asked in his reply to my question: Hi Johannes, Sincere apologies for not being in touch sooner - I have not been able to clear my backlog of emails until now. In theory the answer to your question is yes - RLTC has been fitted to a 996 before and it works well. How old is your car please? I am concerned that if is new enough it will have misfire detection which would render it incompatible, so if you can find out about this I will be able to advise you further. Regards, Mike Broadbent, Sales Manager. So the question is, does the Motronic 7.8 has a misfire detection and what consequences does it have if a misfire is detected? Would the ECU go into "limp mode" or would it just make an entry in some list? many thanks for your help
