  1. I have the same problem with a 99 Cab. I have replaced everything. Talked to a Porsche dealer and was told it is my steering column. The other thing that happens is my horn will start honking when the car is turned off and the wheel is at a certain angle.

Don't know the cost of a new steering column -- but I don't use the cruise that often anyway. Has anyone had this problem?????

    Thanks,

  2. Instead of replacing the whole back section. Go a interior -- top shop and ask about redoing the bolsters.

I had mine done --- drivers side bolster and bottom bolster for $100 per section -- total $200. They had to remove seat - take apart and resew those sections. I have Graphice Grey - Supple Leather and it came out great.

I tried Leatheriqe dye and kit --- what a rip-off and no customer support -- Don't use Leatherique and that cost me $98.00 - so the $200. for a great job was a better buy. The match in leather was perfect.

    Good luck.

  3. Good afternoon,

Has anyone used Dr. Chip for touch up paint? I had the defuser -- plastic cover over my garage lights fall off and gouged my right fender -- top of fender. I have tried the normal touch up paint -- still looks bad. I have taken into a Body Shop and they wanted $350. to paint the front fender -- they said they can't do much better than I have. One problem is the car is Artic Silver a very hard color to blend.

    Any help is appreciated.

  4. Confirmed. The oil leak was caused by the hydraulic cylinder for the convertible top.

At first, I thought it was water came out from the waste drainage hole. But after a full day of sunny drive, it was obvious that these weren't water, they are oil. Question is what type of oil. The position of the leak is in front of the engine, and I didn't see any motor oil leaking from the engine when I jacked up the car. The color of the oil is quite clear and carry a very light green color. I suspected that it could be hydraulic oil. Any thought would be helpful?

  5. Good Morning --- Has any one used one of the internet top suppliers to purchase a top then have a local installer put it on? I have a local guy lined up and can save quite a few bucks buying direct from the top manufacturer.

Has anyone used German Auto Tops Inc. ?

Any help is appreciated -- the car iis a 1999 Cab - the top is in good shape but the back window is seperating at the top. The cost to remove and sew is the same as installing a new top -- so might as well replace a ten year old top.

    Thanks,

    Chuck
