  13. I appreciate all the DIY posts. We are in this together ---- remember it is the people not the cars. RennTech has saved me many $$$$$. Thank you to all the posters and Loren. Chuck
  14. Thanks for the help. I called Interstate - there is a vent. I went back and it was plugged with a little black cap. Got the kit and works fine. Thanks RennTech. Chuck
  15. I changed to a larger Interstate battery today - H-8. It is about 3 inches longer but will fit the 996 battery box ok. The problem is it does not appear to have a vent. Is this a major problem or should I return it for a H-6 or H-7 with a vent? Thanks, Chuck
  16. I had the same problem on my 1999 Cab. after a new top was installed. Took it back to the installer and found out it was a broken cable. New cable cost $60.00. So far so good. Chuck
  17. There is a rebuilder in Texas -- but he is a ***. You are better off buying a new one -- $350. for a new unit is a good buy. I have one if you need a core for a rebuilt. Chuck
