  1. hey guys, dont mean to hijack the thread. i am looking to do the same thing for my wifes 04 cayenne s. i heard others mention that as well as the all the requisite wiring, additional items recommended are transmission and oil coolers????? not really sure what they are or how they are intstalled??? as far as the hitch install, from what i have gathered it looks like the curt hitch with the factory wiring harness seems like the way to go. this may seem like a silly question but what exactly does the wiring harness do other than control the lights on the trailer. i have heard that it switches the transmission to "tow mode", not sure if that is accurate or not. my last point if the wiring does only control the lighting on the trailer and not anything to do with the operation of the mechanics of the transmission, than couldnt one just splice the wires somewhere to gain access to the tailights and have the vehicle tow just like any other vehicle???? any additional input would be greatly appreciated. thanks, mike
  2. where the front of the lid latches down to meet the locking mechanism the piece must be broken. i can only assume it is broken because the spring loaded lid does not stay down, with the exception of my temporary velcro fix. so the underneath of the lid has a hook, but the area where the lid meets the console seems like it is missing a part to latch to the hook. thanks for the input. mike
  3. searched for this topic but to no avail. 2003 911 turbo, does anyone know how to remove the existing clip and replace with a new one, the piece or clip that holds the console lid down. it is flapping in the breeze right now. pictures or illustrations would be awesome if anyone has them. thanks in advance, mike
