  1. Hi, I have just picked up my 2008 CTT. Very nice car, but I was wondering whether the DVD's shown in the back (original porsche rear entertainment system) could also show up on the PCM? I have a TV tuner as well (anybody knows where the tuner is located?). Is it possible to link the rear entertainment system to the PCM? Thanks, frank
  2. hi Dennis, Ok, thanks a lot for the great and quick help. Have a good weekend. Frank A quick measurement on my US spec Cayenne - the middle sensors are just under 60 cm apart.
  3. Hi, I have just bought a 2007 cayenne turbo which will be ready for pick up next week. This car (foreign lisence plates) has it license plates located between the PDC sensors on the front bumper. I am in doubt whether my license plate will fir there as well, because I think that it is too wide and therefore blocking my sensors. Could somebody please tell me what the distance between the sensors is (preferably in centimeters). Thanks, Frank
  4. Hi, I am planning of selling the TT of my wife and buy the type II (used) instead. I have found a nice one on the internet, but this one has the american license plate rear trunk. Is this truck the same as the one of a type I? Is it easy to swap The new truck has a rear camera, do I need a truck which has this as well, or can I swap this camera easily. Any DIY for this? Any known problems with the first type II cayennes? The current cayenne (type I) was one of the earliest and I must say.... I had all the known problems with this car and I do not want to go down that path ones more. Thanks, Frank
  5. It turned out to be the incorrect DVD! I tried to use the 2004 DVD in the PCM with 2005 software. This leads to the error: PCM is overheating! Dealer advised me incorrectly to replace the PCM! Frank
  6. Hi, This weekend I took some time (rare) to wash my car and I noticed that my front fender had some play underneath at the wheel arch. A quick check dit not show what was wrong. I would like to know how I can re attache this fender. Any diagrams? It's probable one of the famouw porsche clips! See the red circle on the picture (this will make it more clear, hopefully) Thanks, frank
  7. Hi, My rear right speaker (bose) is making some noices that are originally not on the CD (it crackes!). Therefore I need to check the wiring and the state of the speaker. Could somebody help me on how to get the speaker out? Do I have to remove the side panel? If so how? Best regards, frank
  8. Unfortunately not. As soon as I will find out more, I'll let you know. good luck, frank
  9. Any usefull tips on how to take the starter out of my 04 tt? Pictures? Thanks, frank
  10. Hi Mauck1, Congratulations on your new car! Regarding the navigation: be careful using a 2004 DVD in your 2005 system. They introduced a new software version in may 2005 and if you use the old DVD in the new system, you will get errors and could potentially ruin the system. You wrote that it worked, so probably you have the 'old' version. Regarding upgrading... yes this can be done, but you have to upgrade from level A to C! This needs some software which can be bought. Good luck. Frank
  11. Hi RFM, Thanks for the help. ''unfortunately'' the watertubes were done 6 months ago! I will bring the car to the shop. How many labor ours will this christmas gift be, roughly? Frank Jagman, no problem,I wasn't underneath the car yet (with the flashlight).
  12. ok, thanks for the help. Is this easy to access or do they need to remove the engine for this one? Regards, frank
  13. Looks like my starter is near to dying. When the engine is cold and I start the car then there is a very loud skeeking noice for a couple of seconds (2 or 3). I suspect my starter. Anybody knows where this one is located? Regards, frank
  14. hi Mudman2, Thanks for the reply, but in this case, the engine is cold and I know for sure that it is not the oil cooler. Thanks, frank
  15. Hi, It sound indeed like a vacuum cleaner (good description). I do notice the sound sometimes when the engine is running? is this normal? regards, frank
  16. Hi Loren, Okay thanks, thought this was for non xenon only. Not sure where the thought came from, but I thought adjustment was done through PIWIS for Xenon. Thanks a lot. Regards, frank
  17. Car is a 2004 TT one: does the waterpump turn only when the engine is running, or also after turning the ignition on (not starting the engine). Reason I am asking is that I hear something turning (after turning the key) one is the fuelpump, but there is something else that is turning as well (in the engine bay) and stopping after a while. I think that this thing is broken (or nearly) and I would like to know what this is. I am guessing the waterpump, but if this one does not tunr unless the engine is running, this one is off the table. Second: Where is the waterpump located? Three (secret bonus question!): Is it hard to DIY a waterpump replacement? Regards, frank
  18. Just got my 2004 TT back and for some reason, my lights are now quite low. I would like to higher the Xenon beam. Is this being done with the PIWIS or can I do this my self by turning the ajustment screws? Regards, frank
  19. Got my TT back. The belt tensioner bolt has been fastenend again and the problem is gone. Mechanic said that this has never happened before and that probably they did some work there in the past and did not tighten the bolt good enough (second owner, so no clue what has happened in the past). Thanks, frank
  20. Hi, Not quite sure how to describe this one. When the engine of my 2003 TT is on temperature there is a sound coming from the engine which can be best described a somebody under the hood drinking a bottle with a straw and the bottle is nearly empty (yes, I know for sure that it is not the fuel tank :-)!!) Could it be the bearings of the waterpump? Not sure whether this could cause the problem? Help is again highly appreciated. Thanks, frank
  21. Update: The mechanic found the leak: the bolt which is used as the chain tensener is leaking a lot of oil. Does this make sense? Regards, frank
  22. Ok, Looks like my cayenne has a loose bolt as well. It is the bolt for the chain tensener. Is this the same as your 'bolt'? Regards, frank
  23. Hi, Any news on this? Looks like my cayenne has developed the same dissease as yours. Thanks, frank
