  1. I have been looking at a TSB for my carrera S. It says, the work is 210 TU. What is one TU: one minute? Thanks, frank
  2. Car has been measured. No power leakage. Battery was just very bad (although it was only 6 month old). Thnaks, frank
  3. finally some news: The are two suspension arms not straight (slightly bend) and one bold has been slightly bend. They have measured everything and the subframe is ok. I do not want to doubt there diagnoses, but just curious how two bend arms (there are more than 2 arms?) could make the rear right wheel to be alligned 11 mm too far the the front (nose) of the car. Does somebody have a picture or a diagram of the rear wheel suspension and arms? Thanks, frank
  4. Hi White, Recharging was done with a booster. Just enough to start the car and then I took the car for a 45 min spin! (always nice to have an excuse to drive the car). The person from the assistance agency said my battery was ok. I will have it checked Tomorrow. They will also measure for ''powerleaks''.ed Keep you posted. Frank
  5. Hi, The battery has been replaced last august. It has been tested last week when it was empty. The ''battery man'' said it was fine. Frank
  6. Hi, A new problem occured. Since a week, the battery of my turbo (2003) is empty after 2-3 days. The battery is ok, generator works fine, no lights are on, but nonetheless my battery is empty after 2-3 days. Are there any known issues (before I ask the dealer to charge me 600$ to look). Alarm light still blinks, but the remote does not work after 2 days. When I open the car (key) it does not start. After using a professionel booster, it starts again. Help is appriciated. Thanks, frank
  7. Hi Loren, You're fast (once again). That's a good idea. Can I just turn the filter off, empty it and put it back on? Can the filter be 'handturned'or do I need a special tool? What oil level should i go for? middle? Thanks, frank
  8. Hi All, Noticed today that there is too much oil in my carrera 997 S (Has just been serviced). Because I don't want to wait for an appointment I would like to drain a bit of oil myself. Just checking the plug is the one at the lowest point of the carter? What is the correct torque for this plug? What would be recommended as a correct level (It is now slightly more than Max (indicationn sometimes shows max and sometimes above Max). Should I drain until the indicator shows middle? Thanks, frank
  9. Hi Loren, You were right,I was working in bolt 24 and 25. The nuts on bracket 28 look much easier. Thanks, You made my day!!
  10. Hi, I feel a bit stupid. Tried to remove the one of the mufflers on my carrera S. When i remove the nuts, I can't get the bolt out. The bolt hits the chassis of the car. What am I doing wrong? Does somebody perhaps have the instructions on how to do this? Thanks, frank
  11. Thanks Loren, I will check it tomorrow. Are the diameters of the pipes equal for both the carrera and the S?? Frank
  12. Hi Loren, I did not buy these at the dealer. Invoice only says carrera S exhaust. Because the number is different then what is currently under the car I am in doubt whether I have the correct one. Is there a number on the muffler I can look for? Frank
  13. Hi, I am replacing the mufflers (not sure whether this is the right word) of my carrera S. The number of the muffler under my car is slightlt different than the ones I have bought. I currently have (right side): 997/11, 997 111 311 04 The new one has : 997/11, 997 111 311 03. Is this the right one for my carrera S? Or did they sell me the carrera ones (because the 04 in the end is now a 04)? Thanks, frank
  14. Hi RFM, This is indeed what I meant. You are completely right about the accident. Car has had a right rear accident. Car drove up the car. As far as I could see (saw some pics), this was not a big accident (rear side panel had minor damage and the wheel was not hit). I think that I should have the car checked out. I was told that it was possible to allign the wheel horizontally as well. Is there an easy way to check whether something is bent? Distance on the right side is indeed shorter than left. I have just bought the car, so they have to fix it, but I do not like to have a car which is not straight. Thanks for the help so far! Frank
  15. Noticed today that the distance between the front and the rear wheel of my 997 c s is not equal. Left and right differ nearly 0.4 inch. The right rear wheel isn't too far to the front. The car had it's wheels recently alligned. Could it be that the shop made an error or can't the distance between front and rear wheels be adjusted? (only angles etc). So, question would be: is it possible to change positions (horizontally) of the rear wheel. Is so, how? Thanks, frank
  16. Hi, Due to some repainting I need to put the carrera s logo back on the engine lit. Does somebody know the precize dimensions (how high, distance between A and S)? Thnkas in advance, Frank
  17. Pokerjarvis, I only need the insert for the rear right door handle (with the hole for the entry and drive system)? If you are willing to sell me this, that would be great. Please let me know what you want for it. Thanks, frank
  18. If I don't need the switch I can also buy an exhaust system from Ebay (with a tube welded in between the inlet and outlet. Not sure what the oppinions are about these exhaust. Would like to keep it original, but the diffence is >1400$'s so I will give it a second thought. Thanks, frank
  19. Hi, Could somebody tell me whetehr it is difficult to do this DIY. Schould not be so difficult I would think. But looking at the TSB it looks difficult. Are there people that have done this? Thanks, frank
  20. Hi Pokerjarvis, Thanks for the reply. No I have not found the strip yet (did not have a lot of time to look for it either). It would be great if it would be a black one. It is the one for the rear right door with entry and drive. Please let me know if you can help me. Thanks, frank
  21. Hi RFM, Thanks again for the quick reply. Regarding the after coolant pump (TSB 1945). This has been done (correctly I hope) and the sound is still there. I thought of the warm water pump as well. But could this make noice as well when the engine is running? Thanks, frank
  22. Hi, Finally had the TSB1945 done at the workshop. Unfortunately the sound is still there. I did some more investigation: - sound comes from the left (driver) side from the cayenne turbo. - sound is best heard under the engine lid, left towards the dashboard (where the brake fluid (?) is) - sound only appears when the engine is warm - airco on off does not make a difference - when the fan is off the sound is gone - fan on and the sound is there - when the temperature is set low the the sound is gone - when the temp is set to warm the sound is back. Sound is best described as a continuous humming sound. What is turned on permenantly (linked to the fan) and could make this noice (not the fan!!)?? Any ideas, I am slightly puzzled on this one. (Air suction?)
