  1. Thanks a lot for the quick responses. As far as I can check, everything is closed. The glovebox is not locked but closed. The manual talkes about front and rear lid, drivers door and glovebox. These are all locked. Car is still under warranty, so I will go to the garage then I just did not want to make a fool out of me by going to the dealer and then finding out that it is a setting somewhere. Two of my colleagues went to the dealer because there remotes did not work anymore (after +7 days, so procedure is described in the manual). One of them was adviced to order all new remotes!! Thanks, will let you know what the result was. Frank
  2. Hi All, I am puzzled here. My car honcks once when the car is being closed (besides two blinks of the turn signal lights). I know for sure the everything is closed (the ''lid open'' light on the turm does not come on either). Is the horn a setting as well?? The car is a carrera S 2005. Any clues? Regards, Frank
  3. Did some more investigation on this problem. The sound is noticable everytime my left front wheel moves ''vertical''. The car is a turbo and the suspension works fine. The stiffer the setting (lowest setting with sport suspension), the less noticable the sound is. Do I need to grease something? Trying to find a relationship between the latest action in the garage. Took away all te platic around the engine, but this did not solve anything. Thought that perhaps the plastic at the underside of the car made the noice, but as far as I could check no sounds. Could the spring or suspension make a skueeking noice? Thanks, frank
  4. Hi All, Finally got my car back today after the coolant issue. Indeed there was a cracked hose. They replaced them all and also releaved me from the airco pump noice. But now...... I have a new problem. Whenever I go over a speed bump there is a terrible squeeky noice coming form the engine area (or from the underside of the car). Unfortunately I have 8 speed bumbs in my street (yes, regulators love them here in the netherlands!!). I will investigate a bit more tomorrow, but I suspect the mechanic forgot to tighten some of the plastic ''tupperwaré''. Fees like when the engine "moves"the sound appears. Under normal driving comditions, there is no noice. Are there any knows issues or advise how to solve this, where to look? thanks, frank
  5. Great news thanks (also on behalf of my children :-)). Is it difficult or can it be done DIY? (besides the Piwis part)? Thanks, frank
  6. Hi All, Just bought a very nice used 997 s. A very nice car with low mileage (10K) which has everything I needed, except...... I thought that the airbag switch for the passenger would be standard. I should have known better on a Porsche :-). Because I need to educate my children (2 year and 0 years) all about driving Porches, I want to turn off the passenger airbag. Is there a way to install an original or simular switch? If not, can the airbag be disabled by the computer (less favorable, but still better than a working airbag). Thanks, frank
  7. Hi Jean, Sorry for the unclear question. I meant the porsche sport exhaust system, with the exhaust 'valve'system. Thanks, frank
  8. Hi RFM, The car is not located at Pon (The former chef started his own company and I like to help him). The inquiry for the parts was done at Pon. They said that there were no spare parts. They also said that this was a new problem for them. Is it a problem if only the three top hoses are being replaced and that the fourth one (the one where the engine must be taken out for) stays unchanged. I prefer not to have the same problem when the car is rebuild again. Thanks, frank
  9. Hi All, Does anybody know how the original exhaust systen should be installed? I am expecially interested in the wiring og the valves. Thanks, frank
  10. Finally, the verdict. Coolant hose under the intake has cracked completely (luckely, the engine can stay in). Unfortunately, Porsche Netherlands does not recognize this problem. They say that it is new to them. Nonetheless there are no hoses in stock. They are in backing order and I have to wait another 3 weeks (minimum). Strange that it is an 'unknown' problem, and no stock available. It could have been worse. Thanks for the help. Frank
  11. thanks RFM great news. 'Tomorrow I will know what the dealer says of it. Let you know. Thanks
  12. Ok I see, just checking, my TT is from 2003. Does this mean that the engine needs to go out for the hose repair?
  13. Hi RFM, Thanks for the reply. I am not really getting where the tubes are located? Can this lead to leakage near the heather radiator? Thanks, frank
  14. Car has 45K miles on it. Are these hoses located at the front or the back of the engine (where front means headlight)? Thanks, Frank
  15. It was a nice day today so I took the car for a drive to the beach. When I returned and started the the car, the coolant refill light turned on (the red one). When I refilled the coolant I could hear the coolant run out of the car. Looking underneath I saw the fluid run out of the car. Are there any known problems regarding this issue? Seems to me that there is a loose hose or something. ''Road service'' came by and they said that the leak is located near the ''heater radator''. Eather a hose or the radiator. The service men said that if it would be the radiator that then the inside of the car would be wet as well. Any ideas on this one? Thanks, frank
  16. Hi, Just looked at TSB1945 and I was wondering whether I can do it with 'ordinay' foam insulation tape as well. Or do I need the special porsche tape? (prefer to buy some heat resistant foam tape at the DIY than going to the dealer on saturdays). Thanks, Frank.
  17. Dennis, Feel a bit stupid, but what do you mean by TSB #1945? Tried the search but nu result. Thanks, Frank
  18. Hi Tried to find more clues, but so far I came up with this: - sound is a constant 'buzzing' noice - sound appeard not directly when the car is started, but after a short period (2-10min). - sound disappears when the airco is set to OFF - sound does not change in loudness when the fan speed changes (fast/slow) - sound seems to come from the engine area - there is no difference in auto or econ mode Any clues? Are there any turning parts that I can check? Thanks, Frank
  19. Hi, Thanks for the quick response. Must say that I am completely puzzled. Just took the car óut''for a spin and now the sound came after 3 minutes of driving and did not, as said before, disappear when I turned the airco on econ. The sound only disaapears when I turn off the blower. This makes me think about the blower again. Strange thing is that the noice appears to come from under the hood and not the driver side. Perhaps I can check some things tomorrow. Thanks
  20. Hi Guys, The quest went on today. Found out that it has to do with the airco. When I put the climat control on écon'then the sound it gone. Noticed as well today that the sound is the loudest under the hood. Does this sound like the coolant after run pump that Dennis talked about? If not what could it be then?
  21. Hi Dennis, Thanks for the reply. Just checking: did the sound disappear at cayenne also when you turned off the fan? We are talking (in your case) about engine coulant, not airconditioning fluid, right? Thanks and good luck with your car., Frank.
