Hi Nick, I just placed my order a few weeks ago in Canada. There are going to be less than 40 of both base and S models up north. When did you place your order, and have you received a firm delivery date yet? Apart from the standard options, what else did you add? I only added Xenon. Everything except the Tiptronic gearbox. ie: P74 Bi-Xenon Headlights 342 Heated Front Seats 551 Porsche Windstop 640 Sport Chrono package plus 680 BOSE - Surround Sound System 810 Floor mats P23 Porsche Communication Management with Extended Nav When are you expecting delivery ??? So far I've been quoted early November, but the dealership said it might take until early January. If you don't mind me asking, what did your total price come to? I couldn't get much a discount. The dealership waived the PDI and Freight, so approximately $2,000. -

I sure most people know already, but incase you are wondering why the Porsche Canada website doesn't have any pricing. It is because of the price drop that they are implementing on all 2008 models. I just moved from Toronto from New York and was going to import a Boxster over from the US into Canada, but now with the new pricing its not really worth your while. To import from the US you have to pay the following fees: 6.1% import tax (This is standard on all cars not built in North America) 14% - GST and PST (Depending what province you are in) Some border inspection fees of around $500 Converting day time lights approximately $500. Convert Miles to Kilos The biggest kicker is that Porsche Canada voids your warranty, so if you want you can get your car serviced in Buffalo. Once you factor in all those costs your savings is a couple of grand, its no longer worth your while. New pricing is approximately as follows: Boxster - Was $63,600 - Now $58,100 Cayman - Was $69,900 - Now $64,500 Boxster S - Now $70,100 Cayman S $75,900 Those are pretty significant price cuts. However, the best deals right now are the limited editiion models. For example the 2008 Boxster LE, in the US you pay a $5000 premium for the LE, while in Canada it is only $3700. That is amazing given the fact that you get around $20,000 in options. However, Canada is receiving approximately 40 LE models for both the Boxster LE and the Boxster S LE.
