  1. I've seen many people advise against the purchase of a 2003 or 2004 Cayenne, suggesting a 2005 or later. I own a 2004 Cayenne S, and I have had absolutely zero problems with it. It has roughly 28,000 miles on the odometer, and it has been flawless. My S has a considerable number of options, including PASM and 20" Sport Techno wheels. I've also got the factory sports exhaust. Honestly, the 340 HP V8 provides plenty of power for this vehicle. I love it. If I were in your situation, I'd look at more than just Turbo vs. S. I'd take all the other options into consideration, color, suspension, etc. Also, you'll want CPO or an extended warranty, especially on a 2004 if you go that way. I'd check the service records too and see what has already been done. If the turbo is a "good one" with a good history, and it has the options you want and an extended warranty, it may be a wonderful choice! I agree with previous posts, you can't go wrong either way. Good luck!
  2. Frank, My 2004 Cayenne S with air suspension does not behave in this manner. The brakes feal rock solid in low mode or in normal. It sounds to me like you should speak to your dealer.
  3. I installed a BEL RX-65 in my 2004 Cayenne S with the "Smartplug" system for hardwiring. It was fairly simple. I used the suction cup windshiled mount just under the rear view mirror, and and I mounted the Smartplug controller on the dash, right by the a-pillar. I ran the wire down underneath the trim for the a-pillar and tapped into a switched fuse, so the unit turns off when the ignition is off. I attached a pic of the Smartplug unit, and of the installation of the controller on my dash. Dennis
