  1. Sounds like the weather is going to be OK, I guess it's a go for tomorrow morning??? :notworthy:
  2. As usual, thanks much Loren...your forum & efforts are a priceless resource for new 996 owners. (That's why I just became a contributing member!) :notworthy:
  3. That was my fear, but I would go for a use stock one. I have a savannah beige interior.
  4. Anyone know what the part number is for the stock shift knob & boot for a'99 C2?? I'm not interested in the Tequipment version but the standard version that comes stock with a 1999 C2 Cab? I'm assuming these are still available Porsche. Thanks in advance. :help:
  5. I have to replace my MAF sensor which I should have by Saturday is it possible that someone might be able to show me how to do this? (I'm pretty low on the mechanical ability level) and what should I do about the re-map of the DME as I have a '99 C2 Cab? I'm pretty sure the MAF I'll get will be the updated one as the older versions are no longer available. I'll get the Torx bits required for the two crews holding the MAF in place and would be happy to bring carb cleaner, in addition to Troomi, to clean the throttle body also. Is there anything else I could bring along in appreciation of the REAL wrenches? Beer is fine but at 10am it might be a little early?
  6. The dealer was possibly telling the truth... The style of wheel were factory wheels that came on the 993. But that doesn't mean that yours are factory wheels since they are now manufactured by FRH. Kinda like the 3.6 Turbo wheel which also came as a factory wheel but now the style is reproducedby Artec & a host of other wheel makers. Hard to say if yours are factory unless you remove them and look for a Porsche part number. If you don't like 'em ...let's talk. I've been interested in these for some time. I have Turbo twists on my C2 (which is the same style without the bolt pattern) if you're interested in a trade.
  7. No problem with the flaps, but after trying the door locks again I was able to get the interior switch working again. Seems like the closing process wasn't completed the last time it was operated. After getting the windows to close (from the door lock method) the interior switch worked. Thanks, now I can put the hardtop on!
  8. Thanks, but the brake light seems to be operating ok. I tried to use the doorkey method of opening & closing the top but no go. Windows will close up automatically but no movement in the top. I don't have the operations manual with me. Anybody have the quick & dirty instructions to drop the top? Please post here or e-mail. Thanks everyone.
  9. HELP! I need to know how to drop the convertible top when the electronic method isn't working. I push the drop button but the only thing that happens is that the convertible top light on the instrument cluster starts flashing. I'venever had a problem with the top before. Is there a manual method to drop the top when the button isn't functioning?
  10. What was the name of the company in Florida? Where are they located?
  11. Well, actually I haven't seen anything regarding this tpe of conversion. Don didn't change his rear quarter panels...at least not on the car in the gallery. I'm looking for the required parts to do a full turbo body conversion, not to just add a Turbo bumper. I've already done the facelift w/ a factory front bumper. What's else is needed to do the rest of the car to do a turbo look 996? I'm pretty sure about: rear quarter panels turbo engine cover rear turbo bumer turbo side skirts Is there anything else?
  12. HELP! I've done the front facelift on my '99 C2 Cabriolet but what's required to convert the rear half of the car to a turbo? I know I'll need: (2) Turbo quarter panels (1) Turbo Bumper I guess I'll need : (1) set of Turbo side skirts Does anyone have a complete parts list?
  13. Thanks Darren www.essentialstyling.com has it for 1,800 EUR (2,200 USD) +VAT but I usually try to stay away from overseas transactions. Anybody know what % is VAT from Europe?
  14. Thanks Gert, but if its Techart...I'm not going to like the price, eh? Thanks for the assist Loren!
  15. Anyone recognize this wing and know who makes it? Anyone? AnYone? Buehler? Anyone???? (Edit - so you can see images - Loren)
  16. Looking at an 01 TT tail & engine cover. Will it be a direct replacement for stock 99 engine cover, or is there more work involved? Thanks
