  1. I rest my case... Thanks for the diagram Loren. also thanks for the other replies. had a tow 90 miles to home where spare key is located. judging from my history of stupidity and repeating, i need to locate it before my wife gives me back my keys. it's not easy getting old. thanks again, Tom
  2. ok. i give. tire is removed. searched for manual cable on right side, passenger side, inside wheel well. any more help is greatly appreciated. thanks again. tom
  3. can't open the door. I unlocked the door and opened the trunk at the same time, using key fob. did not open the door. placed bag in trunk, not knowing my keys were in my hat that i set on top of my bag. automatic feature will relock door if not opened within 60sec. power is not the issue. my stupidity is another issue. i was wondering if a cable or release is present. i don't see one in the manual.
  4. 2006 997 C2. Is there an emergency release cable for year 2006. I have only found electrical release per key fob or lid button near door. keys in trunk, door locked. have spare set at home. thanks
  5. anyone have a 997 c2 shop manual on disk? had one for my 996 but haven't located one for 997 yet. thanks
  6. I have a 2006 997 without nav. has anyone installed the dice unit to power up an ipod touch. any negatives. thanks, tom
  7. i disconnected the horn. the system only went off once in awhile. now, only the get the flashers. haven't noticed any. maybe it is self correcting.
  8. if it's a factory radio (becker), i believe you have to enter a code if you disconnect the battery in order to power it up. a code bar should appear.
  9. I'm 58, retired airline pilot. if i wanted to steal a car, i'd go for a 2008 GT3. any help on that security system? but first i'd have to break into the garage and past the 3 pit bulls.
  10. central coast calif. paso robles. local shop did'nt have tester. guess i will have to go to santa barbara porsche unless i can find the test equipt. thanks for the help. tom
  11. I have a 1999 996 c2. The alarm has gone off at different times in the garage and out. locked and unlocked. Nearest dealer 2 hours away. I have disconnected the horn but the lights still will go to timeout. Is it possible to disconnect the entire alarm system, still able to use the remote locking key.
