  1. Thanks Loren. Is it the tipical price in a Porsche dealer? My dealer quotes it at $5000 with the 50% rebate on parts.
  2. Hello, I've got '02 911 carrera for 1 year. I bought it with 33000 miles and it has 45000 miles today. There is a sound that I ear all the time. Its frequency goes up and down with car speed. It does not depend on gear engaged. Gears shift perfectly. During maintenance I asked the tech to have a look on it. He suspected the differential, flushed the oil and found some particles. He says: - transmission needs to be replaced and Porsche offers a 50% discount on parts. - transmission can't be repaired because particles went everywhere and could have lead to other damage. Do you know in which case transmission can be repaired? Do you think I should replace it or ask for a repair? Thanks for your advises.
