  1. Thanks wvicary! So then I should just leave the wire not connected to anything (perhaps tape if off) and then the alarm will think that all is well, even though I would risk having my radio stolen and the alarm not going off. Alternatively I would have to buy the replacement plastic tab and reconnect the wire. How about the quarter window? If open will the alarm show a fault?
  2. I get a single beep. Would I get a single beep if one of my quarter windows was open? I have a regulator problem that I am in the middle of fixing, so perhaps that is causing my single beep and not the wire on the side of the radio that I broke off? Can anyone tell me if I was correct in wiring the broken tab to ground?
  3. So wiring it to ground was the right thing for me to do, or is that horn beep a sign that my alarm is not activated?
  4. Was doing some wiring for an ipod and accidentally broke off a little plastic and metal tab on the left side of the radio bracket in centre console. Can anyone tell me what that does? I assumed it was some type of ground so I just put it under a screw on the radio frame, but have not yet finished my ipod job, so don't know yet if something is not working right. Any help would be great and sorry I should have taken a pic, but didn't.
  5. Just wired an ipod and figured I would steal power from the PSM switch and ground through the radio frame. Only now the ipod is always on. I thought PSM power was switched with the ignition? In fact, I recall my tester telling me this too. Any ideas what I have done wrong? Maybe grounding to the radio frame? Any electrical guru's want to help. Thanks!
  6. Great post! This seems like the easiest option, as far as having a fixed garage door openner. Couple questions: 1 - Does the wedge kit they provided come with the epoxy needed to attach the wedge to the windsheild? 2 - How critical is the placement of the wedge? Did you measure or just put it approximately where the one you removed was? 3 - How hot did you need to get the putty knife? Blow torch for a few seconds or more like red hot? Thanks!
  7. Most of the center console switches that I have come across are only energized when depressed. Can anyone suggest a switch that toggles between energized and un-energized depending on which side is depressed? I want to use the switch to turn a device on and off. :renntech: This is my first post, but I have used a whole lot of DIY info from here, with great success! :renntech:
