  1. Does anyone know how to improve the range on immobilizer remotes? I recently replaced the battery and no joke, I've got to have the thing right next to the window for it to work. Is there an antenna on the immobilizer system that can be enhanced or something to boost its reception. Any help would be much appreciated as this is a real pain. 1996 993, Guards Red
  2. Hey roybite, I've got a '96 993 Carrera with standard headlights and I'm running PIAA extreme white H1 bulbs in both the high and low beams. I've also got PIAA extreme white plus H3 bulbs in the fog lamps. They are a definite improvement over the regular bulbs, but aren't anything like the Litronics. However, the litronics will set you back about $2,800, so I think I'll stick with the PIAA's for now. :-) Hope this helps, Mark
  3. Hello all, This is my first post to this forum, so please bear with me. The CEL came on in my 1996 993 recently. A friend read the code with his scanner and found that it is P0444, which translated into english means "EVAP Canister Purge Valve Circuit Open". Unfortunately, I don't know where the heck the purge valve is. I found a post about this on the 996 forum, but I doubt the 996 is the same as the 993. Can anyone tell me where the purge valve is on the 993 and if it is accessible for testing without tearing half the car apart? A part number for the purge valve would be helpful also. Thanks in advance, Mark
