  1. Your dealer maybe correct as I have not seen a TSB for this yet.

The parts list does show a new part number with a "use instead" marking. There are two cardan shafts listed (one for the S and one for the Turbo) but I don't know which is for which... so you'll have to look at the part number on your current one.

    For the 955 421 020 10 use the new cardan shaft 955 421 020 11

    or

    for the 955 421 020 20 use the new cardan shaft 955 421 020 21.

Loren, had my cardan shaft replaced today. Couldn't find the part number on the old one, but I did find a sticker that had "7L0 521 102 D" Is this a part number? If so, do you which version of the shaft is corresponds to? I was told by dealer while the vehicle was under warranty that I had the new part number, and then the thing fails not too long after warranty is out.

  2. I have an 04 CS with CDR23 and mObridge. I have had no sound from my car for a while. Tried all of the urban legends to stir the amp into life to no avail. Before I buy a new amp, I brought the pig into a local Porsche dealer to determine if it is in fact the amp, or SW/HW etc. The SA is telling me that they could not access the control modules of the vehicle to read any faults. They said they could not communicate with the car at all. Thought it might be the mObridge unit. This happened before as well when they had to enable CDC so I could install the mObridge.

My question is: is that even possible? the mObridge worked fine for 9 months, and the HU controls the Ipod fine when hooked up. Could the mObridge be blocking the communciation with the car, but the MOST be working fine in all other respects? Arrrggghh.

  3. You will AT LEAST have to dissassemble to the point you can access it from the top by pulling the trim away. Most of the disas work is done by then, PIA sorry, I can help with instructions if you need them

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove and replace the Bose amp without removing the side panel? I think my amp is shot, and want to try to replace it with a good one to see if I am right. Without gong to the dealer of course.

Mudman, thanks for the advice. I have the instructions. You sent them to me a while ago, I believe, for the mObridge install. I was hoping that there was a trick. While I have it apart, i will check to see if the mObridge isn't the source of my no sound angst.

  4. 1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

    2. Use a plastic spatula to carefully unclip the covering frame, starting from the bottom left and right.

    3. Unscrew both fastening screws.

    4. Pull out car radio together with oddments tray. Unscrewing fastening screws and removing the radio.

    5. Press electrical plugs on radio and then pull off.

Will this work for a MY04 Cayenne as well?

  5. Received rubber floor mats for the Pepper for Christmas. Went to install, and the fastener is round, not the oval shape. The mats came with the right fasteners, anyone know the trick to remove the round factory ones? Don't want to sstart ripping away if there is any easy route.

I had the same issue with my rubber mats. The round fasteners are two pieces, like the new oval ones. They pop apart with a little force - I used a screwdriver to simply pry it open. Once you pop a couple of them apart you'll get the hang of it. It isn't hard.

Dennis, thank you very much. I have had issues before where I pried stuff apart and then broke it, and then found out there was a really simple trick.

  6. Hi

I replaced oem CD receiver by PCM head unit. Radio and CD changer is working properly, but PCM buttons do not work and after 3-5 sec error message appears on monitor ( no navigation, amplifier detected). Could you tell me how this message can be removed.

    Thank you all in advance.

When you did the install, did you install the DVD nav unit as well, or just the head unit? Which unit, the PCM 2.1? I am thinking about doing the same thing, as I do not need Nav, and don't want to go through the hassle of retrofitting everything. Any info you have would be appreciated, pics, instructions, etc.

My guess is that you need to go to your dealer and have him program the PCM to let it know there is no Nav unit.

  7. Whatever about the cost of the alignment I can say that whomever does the balance needs to use a Hunter RoadForce machine. I had two shops try to get the balance right with miserable results and the only success came when I found a shop with that Hunter machine.

I think that price for the alignment is too high by about $200 but that's the dealer for you. If you find a shop with the Hunter machine (use the Hunter web-site they have a locator) I suspect they will be in a good position to handle the alignment as well.

    Good Luck.

PS - I am in the NY 'upstate' region and used Putnam Tire for my work with good results.

    Thanks
