Hi to everyone on this forum. I just picked up a 2010 Carrera 4 Cabriolet from Downtown Porsche in Toronto. I plan on using this as my daily driver, I also have a 2009 Maserati Granturismo S and a 2007 Audi Q7 (for transporting the kids). This is my first Porsche and with the great weather we have been having in Toronto, I have been enjoying the Cab a lot. We'll see how she handles the winter. I will post my driving impressions soon.
wow...nice lineup...all the best

awesome...
thanks...car running strong ...maybe a touch more roar from the new engine.

Well...nearly five weeks to the day it died I got my car back. New engine isntalled. Drove it once over two days and battery died. I guess sitting around 5 weeks on the dealer lot was not such a great thing.
Dealer has replaced battery for free.
Should be good to go now. Fingers crossed.

355,
Your engine probably likes being driven like that more! Seems like the one's that are babied have more problems.
Do you still have a warranty? You can probably get one (if you don't) for the piece of mind.
Having lost my engine last year  I will never buy another Porsche without a warranty.
No doubt the warranty is must have.

Another 05 3.6 dies.. Porsche should be ashamed. Glad you got a new engine! (with all the fixes that should have been there in the first place.) This should actually make your re sale value increase.
I agree with you. The engine stopping so abruptly oin the highway was scary at best. Luckily it was the right lane and 5:30 AM.
Not sure about resale value but it can't hurt.

IMS shaft failure...getting a new engine
The new motor will now make yours the perfect car. Congrats.
How many miles on your '05 C2?
36K when I bought it...drove it a grand total of 320 miles before it stopped
In shop nearly three weeks. Will take at least 10-14 days I think before I see it again.

Well...engined has been pulled for several days now and no answers.

Maybe it would be interesting, if you post the relevant codes. It remains a mystery without the codes.
I emailed dealer asking for codes...I will post when I get them.
thanks
no codes yet...but atlanta got back to them and said look into a bad "cam sensor"

My 05 base carrera suddenly stopped running. The techs at the dealer tell me they can't make sense of the codes they are getting from the computer.
They are sending the info to the corporate office.
If this was an IMS failure would they be able to read this off the codes?
Any other possibilites?
thank you
