  1. Anyone replace the horn in their vehicle with something a bit louder. My 996 C2 got hit this weekend in a parking lot despite me beeping the horn non-stop. I was in a position where I could not move, and the other driver barely heard the horn and couldn't see my car (he was in a truck). There has to be a louder alternative that will plug and play, yes?

  2. Yes, did the deed last night in 30 minutes. Hardest part was soldering the wires to the opener's circuit board. Now if I could just figure out how to get it to illuminate with the lights on... Thanks to all for the comments and links, and I made a contribution to Renntech to show my appreciation.

I used the thread that Loren linked to...

Since I have a cab and use all four slots for the windows I put the same (door lock/unlock) switch in the spot that you are wanting to use -- where the PSM goes.  Mine works great and is actually much easier to access by just popping off the upper console.  There is plenty of room behind there for the garage door opener to fit.

Let me know if you have any questions...

    Tim

  3. That is a good thread, but it's not what I need. I am looking for a part number for a switch that will mount below the PSM switch to the left of the radio. That thread uses a different mounting location and it does not provide a part number for the switch (at least I did not see one). Would the same switch work in a different location?
