  1. After not using my 07 987 2.7 for 5 days, when I started the engine there was a distinct knock - something like a tappet adjustment problem. After a few miles, and a warm-up the sound went away. Any ideas of the root cause and preventions? The outside ambient temperature was about 20C+.
  2. I have found a relatively low milage 1989 964 cab - 92000kms = 57500 miles. The cars condition looks good and services in log-book ok except for a 5 year gap in years 2000-2005. Appart from log book, there are no other service records. Current (3rd) owner cannot validate service history so I need to assume that no major work has been undertaken. If that is the case, what major work should I expect to to to avoid failure and get her back to a normal preventative maintenance schedule. Any idea of cost of these works? Thanks
  3. I am considering the following on Fleabay on Australia - 987 Turbo wheels (not Porsche branded but previously fitted to a 996 wide body) Front wheels are 19 x 8.5 with 57 offset Rear wheels are 19 x 11 with 51 offset Front tyres are 235/35/19 Continental Sport Contact Rear tyres are 295/30/19 Continental Sport Contact I understand sizes and profile but not offset - what is this and how does it affect fitting to a 2007 987?
  4. I saw an earlier post stating that a 987 hardtop will fit a 986. Is the oposite true - will the earlier 986 hardtop and fitting kit work a 2007 987?
  5. I will thinking of adding colored wheel crests to my 2007 987, such as these on flea-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...037885&rd=1 Any idea of how these may be fitted? Are they glued to the center hub and if so should I rather look at buying the whole hub arrangemengt?
