  1. again, they are close to each other and cost very little. As long as everything is out of the way and you are in there might as well replace both. Also, just be careful with the little black plastic tubes...they can be very brittle. I broke a section of mine, but was able to use some shrink wrap and repair it with no issues. I was replacing my starter motor at the time so i had the air intake, throttle body and alternator out of the way. Then had access to both the valves.

  2. okay, thanks for the details loren and 1999. I took off the front bumper this weekend and blew out the rads. Some debris, but not terrible. Put back together and it still seems to be running on the hotish side. 101 c intown driving on a cool morniing. And the engine blower fan did come on when i pulled the temp sensor connection off when car was up to operating temperature, and then turned off when i plugged back in. So everything seems functional. I think i'm going to wire up the engine box fan mod and see if that helps if not then it's on to chasing tails for a bit! lol

  3. I have confirmed(i believe) that I have a dead engine blower fan. I disconnected the engine temp sensor plug with ignition on and no workie workie. How can i check the fuse or relays to make sure they are not the culprit before swapping in a new fan? I don't have much experience working with those relays, nor a relay layout/guide. TIA

  4. i've run one for over a year now with no issues as well, but went back to stock. Feel better about it to as i'm not as worried about water infiltration and what not. I paid 330 bucks for mine and wouldn't say the noise dif was worth every penny. But maybe your setup was better. Anyhooo, jm2c

  5. hey dr914jr...what have you been charging to do these mount removal and press in's? I spoke with my indy today and he said he hasn't done them yet, but would love to do it for me. He's got several style presses so it should be easy for him. He wasn't sure about pricing yet. I would like to have a reasonable estimate in my mind so I can guage whatever he comes up with. TIA!

  6. i know you are sure of that 1999porsche911, but what can i tell you, the fans are on low speed or off on intial check, then i get back into my car and press the ac button, come back out and the fans run high...so whatever that proves is really meaningless to me at this point. What i mean is i care about is if the fans are working, both high and low..and they are. So if my temps are still running high i have to figure out why and correct it. Sorry if this pushes a hot button for you.

  7. okay, been having temp issues myself. I replaced the resistors last summer because the low speed fans were not coming on. Tested today with ac on the fans blow hard. But when driving on highway the temp hack get as high as 103c. Around town with ac on and thus high speed fans the temps got to 105 and probably would have gone higher if i was driving around longer in town. So at this point i'm wondering if maybe it's time to blow out the radiator fins. Thoughts?

  8. okay, i've read your thread Foster. I notice very similiar issues, so I'm fairly confident I need a new mount. But just to recap, I need to know if I can remove and replace without taking the trans out completely. Can I just lower the front end using a jack and do the work from there? Also, do you need a speciality tool/press for getting the new mount in? I don't want to have to go my indy, i always try to do repairs myself and have been very sucessful swapping components and whatnot, but the tranny is one i haven't touched yet. Yes, i'm a tranny virgin:) I appreciate your tips and advice dr914jr and Foster.

  9. Seems when standing still, or close to it and depressing my clutch i hear what seems loud(with window down) thud. Almost seems to make the noise before the clutch is even halfway depressed..before the gears are even engaged. Anyone have a similar issue or troubleshooting tips/advice on that one? Otherwise the trans shirts perfectly and the clutch has a lot of life left in it. Also, it doens't happen everytime..the noise occurs intermitently
