  1. Ok, so hopefully to summerise... I can order/install this Porsche auto-dimming interior rear view mirror. However unless you also replace the exterior mirrors with dimming ones these will not dim. The installation of the interior mirror does not require the exterior dimming mirrors. The install is described by a TSB which is involved because you have to run a wire so it can pick up if you shift into reverse. Could you just not attach this wire and just provide the power?
  2. Thanks. Also on the Porsche website I found the Tequipment auto dimming interior mirror part no 000-044-801-46. Is this the one you were referring to the 5 page TSB? Also I see it controls the exterior side mirrors. Is this already in my car even though it did not come with the interior dimming mirror? So the exterior mirrors are all setup and I just need to run the cables to them from the interior rear view mirror? Sorry for all the questions. When I started this I though it was going to be really simple. Now with 4 hours searching the net here I am.
  3. Ok. What is the part number for the non-dimming mirror (my broken one)? Also how can I get the TSB for adding the dimming mirror? Thanks, Doug.
  4. I am looking for the part number for the interior rear view mirror for a 2001 996TT Coupe, 6spd, US. I currently have the non-auto dimming unit and would like to swap to the auto dimming. I believe I just need to bring power to the unit? In any case my current rear view mirror is broken and at the minimum I need to replace it with the original. Any help would be appreciated. Also not sure if any of the units have the Home Link feature and if so if you could point out if these would also work.
