  1. The fold-up safety warning triangle and the first aid kit also go in the right side compartment.
  2. I've had some issues with the front cowl drains clogging up. Two years ago on my 04 C-S during the 80K mile service the dealer said the drains needed to be cleaned and it had to be done manually. They said compressed air would blow the hoses off. No wet carpet at that time, but several hours of labor charged to take things apart to access them for cleaning. Two weeks ago I the carpets on the 04 CTT that I purchased in late August (w/CPO) were found to be wet, and the dealer said the drains were clogged allowing rain water to back up and flow into the fresh air intake into the cabin. They recommended removing the carpets to allow them to air dry and to also dry out the wiring and electronics on the floor. The selling dealer (not the same as the one servicing it now) performed a 40K mile service before I took delivery, which would have included checking the drains. I find it hard to believe the drains could clog up that bad in less than 4 months, so I asked for it to be covered under the CPO. PCNA denied the request.
  3. Great info! I keep getting the "brake pad wear sensor" warning light coming on but the sensors are not the issue. Usually happens right after I make the first movement on the steering wheel. I figure it's one or both of those harnesses (different from the ABS harnesses) in the front. It's an annoyance, but I'll have to check into the pricing on the "repair kits" for these harnesses to see if I want to bite the bullet. Other choice is to put some black electrical tape over the warning light on the dash display!
  4. It will also start in D1 if you turn off PSM. Not normally recommended that you do that of course!
  5. Loren: I believe his question is addressing removal of the tensioner roller; not the polyrib belt. A recent thread on this is located here: tensioning roller although I'm not sure that thread provides a definitive answer.
  6. On my way to VIR this past Sunday, the CD changer suddenly stopped playing, and the Nav system went into restart mode. Nav came back up fine, but I received an error message on the screen: "System Error: CD Changer Not Available." I get the message every time I start the car and turn on the PCM. I haven't checked the fuse yet, but when I take out the CD magazine and then reinsert it, I hear the changer cycling through the loaded CDs, so I figure it is getting power. I have noticed over the last couple years that the CDC-4 has gotten balky about playing discs loaded in certain slots on the magazine, but it has always played at least 3-4 of them. So, I'm thinking now the unit has just basically died. Single discs play in the head unit OK, although I was getting some skipping (I'll clean the CDs and retry.) I suppose there could also be a faulty fiber optic connection, but I'm not sure how to test for that myself. Can the dealer quickly diagnose FO problems, or would I be paying them $125/hr to go through a lengthy trial and error process? After searching the archives, it looks like replacing the CDC-4 is a PITA because of all the trim panels that have to be removed. And I don't think I want to buy a CDC-4 if I'm not sure the problem isn't a FO connection. Would the best bet for me right now be to get a mObridge installed? I'm open to thoughts and recommendations.
  7. 955 is just the part number series used by Porsche for the Cayenne. It is not the "type" number, as in 986/987 Boxsters or 996/997 Carrera's. The type number for the C-S is 9PA AE1 and the type number for the C-T is 9PA AF1.
  8. We did a European delivery last June. While we were there two other Americans, a father and son, were visiting the factory so they joined us on the guided tour. The father was a Cayenne S owner. If you don't arrange things in advance you may not be able to get an English language tour. Here's a link to a short write up on the Rennlist on our experience: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/show...threadid=143873
