Fister has two versions of the mod. Mark I and Mark II. I don't remember which Mark is which but One is exactly the same as PSE and sounds exactly the same as PSE on loud mode all the time, the other connects the pipe entering the muffler from the cats to the exit pipe. This sounds amazing and if I was doing it again, I would buy this one. I have the PSE clone and love it.

or.... you can get FisterD PSE mod for much, much less than that.

Just for look. but the car sounds a little deeper at low RPMs. It looks more efficient from the inside...

The original gasket is $11 (metal)

Since you have to take the pump out again (unless the lek is coming from some hose) I would replace the gasket with the OEM one. Make sure you clean the surfaces really well.

Did you buy an OEM water pump? If you bought the reman or generic pump, did it come with a gasket?

Is the gasket the OEM metal or paper?

You need to clean a lot of the surface on the engine for the gasket to sit, otherwise it will leak.

A 9 year old car with 13K miles. That will seriously scares me. These engines are designed to be running. not for making 1000 miles a year.

Now, you gonna have to ask the seller how many times he flushed the coolant, the brakes, changed seals that may become crusty/dry, suspension bushings, hoses, oil changes... etc...

Sometimes, people think they don't need maintenance since the car hasn't been running.

If you need to clean it, you already took it out from the dash. That's enough work for me to justify replacement. it's only $80. What if you tear your dash apart, take the bad switch, clean it, try it and doesn't work? then need to put everything back together, order the new one wait a week or so, tear everything apart again and put it together. Cleaning it will only provide a band aid as the unit is sealed and no way to service it.

The problem with coolant loss is that since the system is pressurized, they can turn from dripping to gushing in no time. and coolant loss could be catastrophic. If you know is there, take care of it.

yes, my mechanic was a porsche master technician and lives 3 miles from my house. very convenient

squeaks probably means a worn belt. get one, $23. I called Suncoast (same company as Sunset) and they had the hose on back order from germany (8 weeks wait) but Aaron pulled the info and to my luck, my local dealer had 5 in stock!

I wanted to do the work myself but my local indy made an offer I couldn't refuse: $175 labor.

Your water pump is busted. The hose is a three way filler hose to the expansion tank to the return line to the water pump. $43 for the hose and $220 for the pump.

The hoses are on back order. only 5 in the US and they are all in the Collection Porsche in miami. I just did this this past weekend. I will get you the part number. Those hose are notorious for cracking the plastic splitter they have.

Hose: 996-106-850-00

Water pump: 996-106-011-55

Gasket: 996-106-340-54

And since you are there, replace the cap of the expansion tank with the latest version: 996-106-447-04

it's the 3 way coolant hose to coolant container to water pump. it looked cracked (the plastic splitter) but thinking about it, it may be the cosmoline.... $50

you guys are correct. I thought the noise was just the bearing on the pulley and nothing else. I barely made it home and upon arrival the coolant was dripping from the pump. So glad to have my indy living 2 miles from my home and that the car didn't even balk. Temp was between 8 and 0 all the way back. I'm also replacing a coolant hose that looks ifi...

So can I just put the porsche brand coolant without mixing them with the distilled water or it has to be watered down? 4 gallons of porsche coolant only?

It's not leaking but the bearing is making the "wouo-wouo-wouo" sound that is RPM dependent.

Use dental floss and goo gone adhesive removal. It takes elbow grease but comes out clean.

Also try the tie rods on the steering. (inner and outside ones) as they can be a hard to track noise generators...

Get on the pedal area and look up. Use a bit of WD40 on the intersection between the pedal and the metal bracket. That's where the noise is coming from. Don't over spray as it may drip on the actual pedal. Work the mechanism a couple of times and the noise will be done. I did mine 2 years ago and is not back.

2002 Carrera C2, 118,000 miles. DD, 100 miles round trip everyday. Love the car!

For the engine and engine bay...

After the car was running for 5 minutes, I remove the air filter, cover the plenum intake, alternator and MAF connector with plastic bags. hose it pretty down with my garden hose and the jet setting. spray any engine degreaser, let it sit for 3-4 minutes, brush and lift the dirt with a towel and hand brush and rinse. I don't dress the engine with anything else.

The car, by no means, is a garage queen. It's my daily drive and I enjoy going to work in it. When it's time to come home from the office, I feel like the flintstone's intro!! LOL!

Life is short, I bought it to drive it, not for the next guy but I keep it clean in the mean time!!!!
