  1. There must be a local independent garage familiar with the Cayenne/Touareg that could test your battery/charging system.

Brought to the garage this morning, they perform a battery test, it turns out that the battery is fine but maybe there's a problem with the alternator. I hope the alternator is under Porsche original warranty...Will the dealer replace the combo (alternator and battery)?

  2. Hi!

My Porsche Cayenne battery died twice, each time I have to recharge it and everything is ok but how do you know that it's time to change the battery?

My local Porsche dealer in Montreal charge 470$ (part and labor + taxes) for changing the battery but is it not under the Porsche warranty? is there any better alternative like another battery similar or better than the OEM?

    Thanks

    Ian

  3. This fault can be displayed when the battery is bad. BUT, only if it comes up when you start the car. It can be the 4 wheel drive motor aswell. Check the battery first.

    Thanks everyone,

Just an update, the next day, the car doesn't start and the battery is dead. I charged for 18 hours and everything is back to normal. This is the second time that is happened to me. Is my battery needed to be replaced? how can you check if your battery has to be replaced? My Porsche dealer charges 470$ + taxes (part and labor) for the installation of a new battery...Any advice?

  5. Hi! I just installed the itronics for BT/ipod and Backup cam. Everything worked fine for a week. Yesterday, when I turn on the radio, nothing works...no sound and I get this message: system error navigation and amplifier not detected. Is this a problem with the itronics install, dead battery?

    Help please

    Thanks

Here is an update...Brought to the dealer, they've done some tests and found no error and the problems recurs intermittently...

  6. So, if the fiber was bent from the installer, how can I prove it? should I bring back to the installer or porsche dealer for Most piwi test? can it be a loose connection somewhere? does it have anything to do with the bybass switch? I don't really what to do...

does sound a bit like fiber

mine is installed in the front ok

they may have bent the fiber

    Hi!

The installer switch to another fuse (constant 12V) to provide power to the itronics. It seems to work for a week. My Porsche cayenne doesn't come with the CD changer in the rear.

It's very strange, sometime, it works flawlessly and sometime nothing works (radio, nav, BT, Ipod) and I get the message "system error, navigation and amplifier not available". Sometime, after 20-30 minutes drive, everything is coming back. What's wrong? is it the fiber optic not well connected? power problem?

Should I install it in the back at the CD changer connection?

    Thanks

1 - find and pull the fuse to the itronics unit then replace it

2 - do you still have a changer on the system

  8. Thank you for the replies. I have only one dashboard single CD player (no six CD changer) and one navigation DVD-ROM under the front passenger seat.

    Ian

that is also true, the Mobridge units simulates a CD Changer and the system can only properly support 1 so you lose the installed one if you have it

I have not had by BT and Ipod fitted yet, but my porsche dealer advised I would lose the CD stacker but retain the single CD player in the dash.

I can confirm that, I have Mobridge BT installed

Can someone confirm that the single Cd player in the Porsche continues to work after the BT and Ipod installation?

    Thanks

  9. Hello to all,

I have a cayenne S titanium edition 2006 and I have to upgrade for my wife with the latest north america map, the bluetooth, the ipod, the radio sat and the rear camera...I'm not a tech savy kind of guy...I don't even know where to start, how much it will cost and if it's worthed?

-Can I upgrade to PCM 3? which dvd map do I need?

    -Mobridge vs Dension?

-Which rear camera and sat radio that is compatible?

Any comments, ideas and thoughts are welcomed...

    Thanks!
