  1. Sorry, The part replaced was the "Oil Separator" The tech said that when he was replacing this, he saw a small leak from one of the seals. I was told that it would cost 340 bucks to replace all the seals, etc. No oil drips onto my driveway. Thanks.
  2. Hi, Just had a part replaced underneath my 99 boxster and the tech told me that he say "a little bit of oil" in one of the seals, he said that it's not serious though. Is it important to replace the seals? He said it owuld cost about 350 to replace it all. Can this turn into a huge problem that will be undetected until it's too late? I have like no money left so please let me know what I should do! thanks.
  3. Hi everyone, Is there any way to set the climate control so that when I turn the car on, the AC is automatically in the OFF position? For some reason, whenever I turn the car off with the AC off, when the engine is switched back on, the AC is in the on position with 1 bar. When I turn the car off with more than 1 bar, lets say 3 bars, the car remembers this setting and turns on with 3 bars. How can i get it the car running and the AC automatically be off? Thanks!! I have a 1999 Porsche Boxster. - Mike
  4. Unfortunately, I had the same problem half a year ago. Porsche wanted 300 bucks to replace the plastic drip. (YEA RIGHT). Using a waterproof plastic glue from home depot sealed it for me.
  5. Thanks! That answer makes sense, the AC is cold but not as cold as it used to be. Is recharging the AC easy? Is it a dealer's job? Anyone know? Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, Model: 1999 Porsche Boxster Lately, there has been a weird hissing noise coming from my AC vent ONLY when the AC is turned ON and the Engine is running. I don't think it's the AC motor because I've opened up the board underneath the passenger side to listen to the AC motor when the hissing noise is occuring and it's not coming from the AC motor. Also, when I have the AC on with just the ignition being on the "ON" position (engine off), that noise does not occur. -- The hissing noise only comes when both the engine AND the AC is ON. It is not present when the engine is on and the AC is off. Both has to be on. I think it may be a fan that has something stuck in it or something along those lines because when I turn off the car, the AC shuts off immediately and but I can still hear the hissing noise slowly go away, sounding kinda like a stuck fan slowing down. so my question is: What fan turns on when both the engine and the AC is on? Is there anyway that I can access that fan to possibly try and fix this problem? How can I access that fan? Thanks!! - Mike
