  1. I had the same problem with my passenger side front wheel bearing. Tried all the regular tricks for troubleshooting, raise the car and wiggle the wheel, check for heat, try to turn sharp left/right to see if the noise went away and put my ear to the bearing to see if I heard grinding. The bearing is torque to 340 foot/lbs so the normal troubleshooting doesn't work. If you can isolate it to the front left or right chances are its the bearing. I have the drivers side going out now. I spent all that money on a stereo and can barely hear it. guess I should have changed them both at the same time.

  2. All I know is that when I used the Durametric software the first time it "coded" my instrument cluster to a non turbo. I contacted Durametric and they said they would work on it. They came up with a new software revision that "coded" the 996 turbo cluster with a boost gauge. When I went to use the new software it said that my instrument cluster was not a 996 cluster. I e-mailed Durametric and sent them a logging of the computer clearing fault codes and trying to activate the boost gauge. After several weeks they sent some new software that ignored the kind of instrument cluster I have and loaded the boost gauge. I really didn't have anything to do with the fix, it was all the work of the pros at Durametric.

  3. Jp, Thanks for the heads up. I was in e-mail contact with Durametric and they were suppose to notify me by e-mail when they had the issue resolved. I guess they must have gotten busy. I will try any download the update and try it tonight.

    thanks agian,

  4. I have all the options when I operate the left lever down, outside temp, miles till empty, average speed but no boost pressure. I went to the selections for the upper display, boost isn't even there to choose from. Looks like I will call Durametric tomorrow for some more help. If I get this fixed I'm not going to use version 6 until version 7 beta is out. I tried the onboard computer enable and disable, I'm wondering if that is what killed my boost.

  5. 2001 996 turbo.

I was messing around in the durametric 6 software and couldn't get anything to activate on the instrument cluster. when I exited and started the car I noticed I lost my boost gauge. I called Durametric, then sent them a logging of the trouble. They said I should be using the K21 instrument cluster. I tried the K21 and It worked, problem is I still have no boost gauge, I can't get it to read on the bottom of the gauge and it isn't on the selections for the upper gauge. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

  6. My Durametric cable showed up yesterday and I hooked it up for the first time. Can someone tell me what a "healthy" Turbo is suppose to be reading for

    Camshaft position 1 deviation

    Camshaft position 2 deviation

Actual angle for camshaft bank 1

Actual angle for camshaft bank 2

    Thanks,

    Joel

  7. I am getting an error code P1325. After reading several posts I decided to swap the actuator valves (the ones on the top of the engine) bank 1 to bank 2. I also changed the filter and oil. Went on a ride and got the same code after about 5 minutes. Any ideas on what to do next.

    thanks,

    Joel

    2001 996 turbo 26,000 miles
