  1. The nav I'm installing is a eclipse avn2454. I'm keeping my cdr23 (MOST) radio. I'm just installing it as a navigation unit at this point. The navigation is working, however, I'm having a difficult time getting the illumination wire hooked up. I've spliced into the dash button illumination, however, the nav unit thinks it's night all the time (when connected to the positive wire) or the nav unit thinks it's night when the headlights are off, and day when the headlights are on -- which is reversed (when connected to the negative wire). Any suggestions?
  2. I've installed all the necessary wires except for the illumination wire for my navigation unit. I have a 2003 boxster with the MOST system. The illumination wire is not part of the porsche stock harness. I tried to tap into the illumination wire on the side switches, but without success. The side switches have an (+) and an (-) wire connection (the right and left side, respectively while facing the back of the switch). I spliced into the (+) wire without success. Any suggestions?
  3. I got the dvds, which prompted me to try the mirror install myself. They're nice. I can't seem to grip it enough to turn. I'm grabbing at the base of the mirror next to the glass. It'll a move few degrees either way, but that's it. I'll try clockwise to see if it'll give in to go. Is there something I need to do (like pushing in, or remove a locking screw, etc.) before just turning on a 2003 S? Don't know why I'm having so much difficulty with this, where other people like Henry can remove the mirrors with their hands.
  4. I'm trying to replace my interior rear view mirror with an auto dimming mirror for my 2003 S. I tried using robogrip pliers with jaw pads, but I can only rotate the mirror a few degrees either way. Can't seem to rotate counterclockwise 90 degrees to remove mirror. I've read that other people have removed their mirror with ease. How much force is needed without breaking the front wind shield? Can the mirror be removed clockwise as well as counterclockwise? Are there any other tricks, besides brute force? Thanks in advance.
  5. Got my OBC turned on today!!! With my button already installed, I'm using the computer as we speak. Thanks to everybody here for their speedy support.
  6. Thanks for the input -- Charles and Toolpants. It's back to the dealership for me. Now that I know it should work with the new computers. I'll let you know how it goes.
  7. Awesome! Let me know if it works. And yes, the DVDs are fine. Trying the auto dimming mirror next.
  8. I have a 2003 S. I went to my dealer in Southern California a couple of days ago, and they said that they no longer have the PST-2, but a newer computer. They tried, but could not activate my OBC. I have the DVD with OBC instructions, but they were for the PST-2. Any suggestion?
