  1. I took it to the dealer who said the rust was normal. I purchased some rust inhibitor and will spray it on after I wash the bottom of the truck. As a side note, I still think the rust is excessive for any 2005 vehicle, especially a Porsche. You may want to inspect your Cayenne's underbody to look for and stop any rust before it becomes a problem. Thanks, Lance Lance: Is it possible the vehicle was used to tow a boat? More specifically, this sometimes happens when a vehicle is used to tow a boat and then to back the boat into the water by using a ramp that gradually floats the boat off the trailer while backing in. If there is more rust in the rear section of the underbody, as opposed to the front 1/3 or 2/3, then that is possibly the reason for more rust than normal. There is an excellent line of products called "POR-15" that is used to treat and stop rust on cars that are being restored. In thirty years of trying everything under the sun, it's the only product I have found that appears to stop rust and that does not require extensive prep before applying. I would certainly post pictures (close ups) so that others can review. Looking forward to it... It would be sweet if you can post BEFORE and AFTER (the treatment).
  2. What do you mean by Sport Setting? I wasn't aware of any sport mode on these cars, there is a sport suspension mode, right? Thanks~ Mark I believe the newer models do have a proper "sport" button. For older models, "PCM off" provides a similar experience, at least in terms of transmission shift points, etc. Yes, the sport suspension mode. Oh, and I tried the "PCM OFF" button. Good lord, what a difference! I bet it shaved a half second off the 0-60 time. Going to try the runs again next month, with PCM off. The vehicle behaves much more wild with it disabled, that's for sure. Almost to the point of recklessness... think I'll nickname it the "no longer civil" mode button. Or the "scare the bejeesus out of my passengers" button. Turbo spool time is about the same, but the raw V8 power shows up more. 3ball, I was also assuming you had PSM Off when you did the drags. Yes, it makes a world of difference and I love showing my friends that feature because passengers feel it more than the driver. Keep us posted with new numbers. I do have to admit that I "may" feel there's quicker spooling, but I guess a survey of members out there can answer that, and there's so much going on when I'm railing the gas that I can't definitely say if there is. Now try PCM OFF in the snow and good luck. :) You'll appreciate the PCM in slippery conditions. PCM stands for PORSCHE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT (Makes sense to have this off..hahaha) PSM stands for PORSCHE STABILITY MANAGEMENT (No comment)
  3. The Cayenne S / Turbo / Turbo S have '2' drain plugs. One for the oil pan... And another to drain the turbos Can anyone else confirm? The service tech showed me 2 drain plugs about 3 inches or so apart from each other. Are they for what I described above?
