  1. I would check your battery terminal connections as well as the ground to the chassis under the driver's seat. They must be tight and clean free of corrosion.
  2. Cayenne Door Panel Removal

  3. door panel cayenne

  4. Hi working4it What prompted you to change the differential fluid? Were you experiencing any issues? I have a humming vibration coming from my front right wheel area that I'm suspecting is differential related. Thanks.
  5. As others have stated it is normal. Also note the transmission will switch to D1 if you drive under 5mph for a few seconds after a standing start at D2. Congratulations on your Cayenne S.
  6. I had a problem with the rear hatch switch on my Cayenne S and it had to be replaced. As a temporary way to open it: Inside the cargo area at the rear hatch door, remove small square plastic cover at the bottom center of the tailgate, stick finger in mid center bottom feel lever and lift up.
  7. The cardan shaft was about $250 I think. $21k seems like a lower than average price. If it is clean with no accidents that would be a decent buy.
  8. I have a 2004 Cayenne S and I recently received a warranty extension notice from Porsche on the coil packs so maybe 2005 is also covered. Ask your mechanic if the 3 plastic coolant pipes underneath the plenum have been replaced with the aluminum ones. Mine failed around 80k miles and that was a tough job to replace and expensive if you let a dealer do it. Downtown LA Porsche was quoting $2,500 for the job. My right side horn stopped working and that was replaced for free under extended warranty. But it was am easy $100 job if you did it yourself. Last thing is the cardan drive shaft. Mine broke and was repaired under warranty. That's the experience I've had with my cayenne. The car runs wonderful and I have no plans to replace it. Good luck
  9. I was not proactive and just waited for it to happen. My pipes failed at 67,000 miles (2004 Cayenne S). I was driving at night and got the low coolant warning on the freeway. I knew what just happened and exited. I filled up my coolant reservoir with some distilled water I was carrying in the trunk for this very moment and made it home 20 miles later. I ordered replacement kit from Sunset Imports in Beaverton OR and my parts arrived in 2 days. I spent most of Saturday replacing the plastic pipes with aluminum ones. In total the Cayenne was out of commission for 7 days from the point of failure. If the car is not your daily driver I would just wait and keep the cash ready. If you depend on it for regular use then I would plan to change them proactively at a conservative 40k miles.
  10. I recall there was a DIY on how to replace the coolant pipes but it looks like it was removed. Anyone know where it might have gone?
  11. To turn off the air conditioning completely press down the fan blower toggle switch until the display reads "Off". This shuts off the compressor and the blowers.
  12. Naw...just dirt, leaves and such. Do you park outside or in a garage? Hi can anyone tell me the location of the drain holes so I can unclog my AC drain line(s)? Thanks!
  13. Disconnected the ground to fix pixelated display and TPMS workshop error

  14. Thanks for the tip about the pixelated display fix. It worked for me. I added pictures to your post.
