  1. Hi, just registered on the forum, hope I can get some advice I have a 2001 996 C2, 90k kms brought in August. Car is Gulf-Spec LHD Mid-December the car was overheating, the cylinder heads were high pressure tested, valves refaced and no problems were found. The car has new gaskets and the garage assured me this was the problem 4 Days later temperature sensor came on but car is not overheating, took it back to the garage and found there was oil in the water again but the water was not hot Been told by the garage that the will re-test the cylinder heads again but even if they find nothing wrong it is likely to be this and I will need new cylinder heads Does this sound right? Surely a crack, even a hairline crack would be picked up if the test was carried out properly first time around? ANy advice would be greatly appreciated
