  1. also hope you unplugged your battery before pulling the cluster. or now you will have an airbag light to remind you, that you screwed up. sounds like there's not a connection or its not getting power
  2. you would be kind enough to share the password to dei diagrams access would you? :clapping:
  3. here's a trick for you to do, i do a lot of alarm installs. anywho. put your "bad" key in the ignition with one hand, with other hand hold the "good" key up close (really close) to the ignition. now try to start the car with the bad key while holding the good key close to it, even touching it, If you car starts, you have 1 of 2 problems. the chip is dead or the immobilzer doesnt reconize the chip and may just need a programming
  4. I know this sounds ghetto as heck, but I wrap my front end (leaving and opening for air) with clear packaging wrap before long trips. my front end is clean as can be, now if I could the same with the windsheild. Texas roads tend to shoot up a lot of rocks
  5. wow, didnt know the 986 didnt come with keyless. mine is built into the key. the DEI 300 is a pretty decent alarm. it should lock the doors. sounds to me like some rookie DIYer installed the alarm and did't know anything about the car. the lights need to be split as mention and I bet you dollars that the central locking wasnt tapped.
  6. wow, i thought i just didn't know how to drive a standard. my 99 also sometimes judders a bit, mostly on inclines. the clutch is so much stiffer than on the bmw's and hondas that am more used to
  7. he's a use car dealer....its kinda hard to sell a pcar with a cel don't you think :drive:
  8. I have a 99 with 29k miles. No problems.. About to do the 2nd oil change in it life
  9. Hey guys, this is my first thread. I have been mostly bimmers and benz, but finally decided to make the move to a pcar and I love it! its a 1999 with 27k miles. picked it up about 2 months ago for way cheap!!! about the price of a new Accord LX!!! anyways, took the car to a local Dyno meet with BMW groupies and when we pulled the area(sorry don't have all the terms down yet) that covers the engine, I noticed my engine is horribly dirty. Filty I would say. So whats the best way to clean her up? I bought it from Boardwalk Porsche here in Plano. and the only service stamp in the books is an oil change at 14k miles. Is there anything else i need to look into doing?
  10. you have 700 miles on your PCAR and its making noises, I wouldn't be posting right now, but at the stealers complaining. This isn't a chevy!
