  1. What ever you do , don't take it to Rusnak, they tried to rip me off. They qouted me $2500. I refused to do it then they said they charge me $200 for checking it out. I paid $200. Sorry, do not know anyone in Pasadena to fix Porsche. Just shop around and check on prices.
  2. Anyone can show me how to open inside door panel to replace the door handle switch? Please give details and the tools to do it such that it will keep it in tact after it is opened. Thanks,
  3. My engine light keeps go on after being turned off from disconnecting the battery after a few days. What can be wrong? Is there anyway to test and see exactly what is wrong without going to the dealer? The car seems to function OK with no obvious issue. THanks for any help.
  4. Help. My driver side window all of a sudden, when opening from outside, goes all the way up before I close, preventing it from closing properly. If I use the outside handle, then it goes all the way up. The inside handle seems to be working OK (means: does not cause the window to go up and down). The only way to close it now is to bang it against the upper plastic molding for it to go down a little bit and then close it. Questions: 1. How to fix it? 2. Do I need to open the inside door lining to get to some kind of sensor in the door handle? If I do, how to open the door panel cover correctly without destroying it? Thanks for any info.
  5. Thanks, I'll check from my mechanics and see where he gets the Jurid's from.
  6. First allignment was done by the dealer. The tires that I had before was Kuhmo's and they were wearing out evenly after a while with some abnormal wear too. However, when I switched to PS2, then the feather wear showed up. I brought it to FireStone for the allignments and the Technician said that the allignments were good for the front except the back left. However, the feather wear was on the fronts. How much PSI is correct for the PS2? I have 35 in the fronts and 39 in the back for the 18''. Thanks
  7. <_< I've just purchased a set of PS2 about 6 months ago. These tires are pretty good and comfortable and handle pretty good. I do think that the the Continental Sport Conti 2 are just as good or better and cheaper. I may get the Conti next time. However, the question is have is that, the PS2 in the front seem to develop some feather wear on the outside. I just had the allignment done about one month ago and did not notice the wear happened before or after the allignment. I used to have 3 pair of Michellin on my wife's Mercedes and they had the same problem with feather wear and have had to change to Bridgestone. Is this wear normal on the Boxster 2000 or something is wrong or is it because of the Michellin's? Thanks,
  8. <_< Anyone has used Jurid brake pads? My mechanics recommends that over Texstar pads? What do you think? Thanks,
  9. What is the tolerance level or minimum thickness on the front disc?
  10. I found out from a local Porsche repair shop that there is a leak in the air copmressor. To replace it using a refurbished one would cost 995+tax. For the new one, they will charge me around $2k. Then I called the dealer, the dealer said that if the core is still useable then it is $995 parts+675 labor, if the core is not good, then $165 extra. I will take the car to the dealer for this problem then since it does not cost more than the local repair shop. Thanks,
  11. I did take it to an AC shop, they did a test and found that there was a leak, but did not want to fix it. So I need to take it to the dealer on Monday. Thanks for the advise. I should have waited until Monday and saved some money.
  12. :( Yesterday it worked OK, but today, only hot air comming out. I noticed that event though it is not cold, the engine still seems to work harder when I turned on the ac. Does this mean that it needs to be recharged? I've been using the ac in the car everyday to do round trips to work (about 45 mins one way) and could that deplete the freon? Please give me some advises. Should I go and have some shop to recharge the freon or just bring it to the dealer ($$$$). Thanks,
  13. <_< Anyone with the 18' tires? I need to replace the back tires. Thinking about the Conti Sports since they were the original ones that were on the car when I bought it and it felt very good then, even though a bit noisy. I mostly drive the car to work one day round trip is about 80 miles and therefore I need tires that last a little more than just pure performance tires. The three options are: 1. Conti sports. 2. Bridestone S02/S03? 3. Pirelli Rosso. Thanks for any advise.
