  1. It certainly is possible, but it all depends on the thorougness/expertise of the warranty company's inspection procedure prior to issuing the warranty.

    If they catch it beforehand, they may disclaim that problem as a "pre-existing condition".

    So I take it that the car has to be inspected before an extended warranty is granted, you can't simply pay and get one?

  2. I have a July '05 2.7 Boxster 987 Left hand drive registered in the UK, I recently had my car up on a ramp and I noiticed that there were traces of oil around the engine /gearbox join.

    I've got a nasty feeeling that this is down to a RMS failure, although the car doesn't drip/lose or burn oil. My warranty ran out in July last year.

    I take it that I have to cover the costs for a repair myself?? Is it possible to put a porsche extended warranty on the car and if and when the issue gets worse, have the work done then under warranty??
