  1. I have recognized a couple days ago, that there something like guck in the engine oel inlet. After cleaning this it was present again after 100 miles of driving. Could it be that the head gasket needs to be replaced? The car is loosing coolant water, but I do not see were it goes. At night temperatures are dropping under freezing point. Could this be the issue? I made an owl change two weeks ago but found no water, plastic or metal chipping.

Any ideas? Its an 3,4L 2000 M96/04 engine.

    Thanks

  2. I have recognised a days ago, that my car will not lock the doors with the key transmitter. When I lock the drivers door with the metal key, the car makes a double horn beep and the passenger door is still unlocked. Then I open the door, the alarm will turn on. I have replaced both door locks because I thought is a microswitch problem of the door lock, but the problem is still present. I have attahed the error codes in the attachment.

Btw, triggering the actuating elements in the door lock by the Porsche software at the dealer ship will lock the passenger door.

Does anybody has an idea what the problem could be?

    Thanks

  3. And if you wiggle the ignition switch with the key in it? any affect?

Bad ignition switches can cause all kinds of strange electrical problems.

    @ Loren:

For my understanding, all instruments and displays with the red arrow in my attached pictures are using ABS-signal (except the clock :-)) from the wheels? could it be, that those sensors are sending "signal not valid" signals or no signals to the ECU of the instrument cluster ? The tiptronic is shifting normaly while i am driving. So i guess, the ABS signals are o.k.

  4. Hey guys,

I am wondering why my instrument cluster does not work anymore completly. It happens a few days ago, the rpm counter and the speedometer indicator are not moving anymore. After that, the odometer, clock and the digital speedometer was also not working anymore. Another problem is the tiptronic display. The red light toggles between "D" and sometimes "2" or "4" while am driving. I already disconnect and reconnect the three connectors behind the instrument cluster. But it does not help. Attached you will find a picture of my instrument cluster. I have marked the working instruments with a green arrow, the not working with a red arrow.

Do you guys have any ideas what to do? Does anyone has a wiring diagramm of the cluster? Please send to tacoma1@gmx.net

I hope my cluster is repairable.

    My ride:

    1999 Carrera Convertible

    Thanks for your help.

  5. it is the rear-left wheel speed sensor output of the ABS.

VSS generates a pulsing voltage every time the vehicle speed is beyond 3 mph,

supplies vehicle speed information to the ECU,

ECU supplies the requisite signal to the cluster,,,,might want to reset the DME.

Have you touched the stereo wiring rescently? I've seen VSS/GAL signal shorting out too

So, is it enough to clean the sensor? Or should i replace it?
