  1. There is an American company selling batteries with the A123 cells. The name of the company is Lithiummoto.com . I spoke to the own and he will build any size battery you want. I'm having one built right now. I will let you know how it turns out in a few weeks. Until then you should give him a call or send an email. Very nice guy and he will answer any questions you have. :)

  2. Thanks and I promise you it doesn't idle much, LOL. I think I will need to invest in a good set of ear plugs now. Can't imagine the noise when I change the exhaust. I might as well remove the radio now too because that beautiful engine note is all you can hear. The wife asked if it was worth it. Silly question. :)

  3. Hello All,

Just thought I would give you a review after installing my solid mounts today. I fitted a set of TRG mounts in my 997.2 GT3. If any of you were wondering if these old style mounts work, well the answer is yes and no. I had to do a bit of custom fitting. I also had to get a shorter set of bolts because the set they sent are to long. But after a few hours of tinkering, I finally finished.

I had read a few articles on this topic and basically did the same as the other guys but I went a few steps further to make sure I had no problems later down the road. In these articles the guys said they were surprised by how little extra noise and vibration they gained. I'm not sure what they were expecting but I will tell you there is extra noise and vibration. I'm not unhappy with it but there is a lot of new vibration noise inside the car. You don't feel it so much but it sounds like the doors are coming apart and the rear view mirror is going to come off.

I think the engine tone is get now. It is louder and just screams at high RPM's. It does sound a bit like a diesel at idle now. I don't mind but didn't expect it. The major plus is in the handling and the power delivery. The car is much more planted and less twitchy. The power comes in much stronger too. If you are looking for a performance upgrade that is easy and you don't mind a bit more noise and vibration, mounts are a good bang for the buck.

  4. I had the same problem with my old Boxster but my tires were not very old. I had the alignment and balance checked and they were ok. The problem turned out to be 2 tires had flat spots because it sat on the dealership lot for a long time before I bought it. They could actually see the tire out of round when it was spinning on the balancing machine. It wasn't hurting the car but it was a bit annoying.

  5. A good high temp rtv sealant might work if you clean the surface of all oil first. But with that said I would only do that as a last resort. I would try to fix the sealing surface properly first. If you post some pics maybe someone could give you an idea of how to smooth the surface. It will have to be done evenly or you will be wasting your time and maybe make it worse. Don't put a dremel on it unless your sure you can do it right. It sucks that it happened but hopefully it can be repaired.

  6. Hello everyone, I've been doing a lot of reading and researching the low RPM problem I've been having. One thing that popped out at me was the fuel pump. I couldn't ever remember hearing it run so I check the fuse box first. I found that a fuse was missing from fuel pump # 2. After looking at the fuse chart, it said #2 was only used on Turbo's. But I thought what the hay and put a fuse in the spot anyway. The car now feels like it has more power and runs a little smoother at low RPM's. Can anyone tell me if the #2 pump is used in the GT3"s. Also I took the car to the dyno today. I was very happy with the power. The SAE corrected number was 384 HP. The fuel/air mixture was perfect all the way up from 3000 RPM's. With that said the car runs great at full throttle but still runs a bit rough at low RPM's cruising. I hope I can find the answer soon.

  7. Thanks for the input ir fuel. I have opened a case file with Porche customer service and they are going to see what they can do. I have plan to get it to a dyno but I have had a chance yet. My problem is the car is not giving any codes to say there is a problem and with out that they are not taking me seriously. Hopefully they will send a tech rep that knows about GT3's and he can confirm that the car is not running right.

  8. Thanks for the reply D. I wish I had another dealership close by. The next closest is about 7 hours away. I think I am going to ask them to bring someone in that knows more about the GT3's. Mine is the only one in town and I have no one and nothing to compare it too. The dealer isn't giving me a hard time but they can't find the problem.

  9. Hello everyone. I have had several Porsches and they have all run very smooth but this one seems to have a big rough spot. In the manual it says that the car will run rough around 3000 rpm's. Mine runs rough at any rpm below 4500 rpm's. I have spoke to the deal several times but they can find anything wrong with it. Basically no CEL so no problem. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem and is this just normal for this engine. The general description of the problem is as follows. When the car is warmed up and driving normally around town is when I feel the problem. It seems to be worst when driving at low speeds with 1/4 throttle. When accelerating away from a light it will buck like it's missing around 3000 rpm's and then again around 3500 rpm's. Then when I try to hold a steady speed in the lower rpm's it feels like it is missing or loading up on fuel. If I run it hard and stay above 5000 rpm's every thing seems to be fine. The other thing that makes me think there is a problem is the fact that it really doesn't feel much faster than my 2006 Carrera S. I might just be me but I would think there would be a big difference. If anyone can give me some feedback that would be great. Also if there is a problem where should I go above the dealers head. Thanks.

  10. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone could give me some instruction on removing the rear interior side panels on a 2006 997S C2. I have removed the rear seats and I would like to remove the rear seat belts. To do this I have to pull the rear panels. I've removed panels from may cars and I know there is usually a trick somewhere in the process. I had these almost off but something was holding them at the top. I felt like I might brake something if I kept going so I put them back. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
