  1. In the next months I hope to buy a 996.

I am undecided whether to choose a carrera 4 tip (2002/2003) or a TT (2001/2002).

the 996tt has a version of the earlier type bottom end. as per 993 and 964 so isnt effevted by the RMS or IMS failures that 996 carrera and boxsters suffer. i think i am right in saying that 2005 onwards carry a modified shaft so if you want to avoid these problems then i would go for the TT model on my02. just my opinion.

2005 unfortunately is not for my budget.

2005 onwards, you talk about the carrera or TT ?

    Thanks

  2. In the next months I hope to buy a 996.

I am undecided whether to choose a carrera 4 tip (2002/2003) or a TT (2001/2002).

I have read a lot respect of RMS and I have understood that the TT is uninjured from this defect.

I concern to the breakups or porosity defects of the cylinder/block that can happens to the 996 carrera motor, is possible that does also happen on the TT,

or the cylinder/block is completely different ?

I hope to have been clear in my weak english.

    Thanks in advance. :renntech:

  3. The british word would be "gutted". Sorry to anyone this has happened to and I hope the replacement engine brings it back to be an even greater car than it started to soften the blow!

Porsche UK won't warranty the car after it's 8 years old (same everywhere?) so a lot of us '99 996ers will be on our last year of warranty. Is there a way of bringing on this devastation so you can get a replacement under warranty?? Can someone mail me some engine metal hehe.

WeekendWonder, I have an audi TT 3.2 DSG and was my intention to return to one my old passion:911.

Unfortunately I have read a lot of disasters for the 996 motor. I have been amazed and disappointed of everything this.

My target is (was?) a 996/2002 3.6 liter.

Do you know if in England, does Porsche guarantee similar breakups of the motor and for how old?

Thanks and sorry for my weak english.

Sorry, but your list is slightly maniacal. :D

  5. Hi, I'm new in this forum.

I have an Audi TT Mk1 - 3.2 quattro DSG, but I hope to buy again a Porsche.

No experience with recent Porsche. In the past, 2.7 RS, Turbo 3.0, 928,SC.

If you put low springs without to change the shock too, the camber will be not correct,

    with unusual tyres consumption.

In my TT quattro is no possible to correct the camber.

I hope that in the Porsche TT, this is possible.

    Sorry for my weak english.

    Bye :renntech:
