  1. My 1998 Boxster is experiencing a dead battery problem. After leaving the car overnight there is no juicer to power any part of the car. Can only be started using an outside battery. I took the car to a local Porsche specialist who, by process of elimination, determined that the problem lay in a fault in the instrument cluster which is drawing power even thought the ignition is off and key removed. Among things checked and eliminated as a cause were the ignition switch and the alternator. Estimated cost to replace cluster plus diagnosis is $2800. Is this common , rare, or unheard of? Are there any other possible causes which should be investigated? Thanks for any ideas or guidance ranger01
