I have two trim questions: 1. Interior Trim Piece needs replacement. On a 04 Boxster what does it take to remove and replace the long black trim piece that runs inside between the dash and the windshield (The trim piece that directs the air to the windshield)? Does the dash or windshield have to be removed? I have a 2 by 6 inch area that has a different texture then the rest of the trim. I am going to try to get this covered under warranty. I did not notice it when I picked the car up and I can't figure out how it happened, but I’m sick over it. I am not talking about the side vent trim. It’s the trim that runs along the entire length of the windshield and is covered at its’ center by the alarm light. Does the alarm light holder just snap in on top? 2. Installing the garage door opener hack on a 04 S. To do this you need to remove the trim piece that holds the switches and switch blanks that are located on both sides of the radio and install a switch that is connected to your garage door opener. All previous write-ups show a two piece trim where each side can easily be popped off. I am very nervous about prying on plastic. Any ideas? If I have to pry, where is the best place on the trim to do it. I don’t want to break or dent the trim or the surrounding leather. What’s the tool of choice? Tape covered putty knife, tape covered screw driver, none of the above? I just found out that a plastic spoon was a good choice for Boxster owner with the two piece design.
