  1. What do you guys recommend for ride height for pss9's on a 2000 996 c4?
  2. I'm about to bring my 996 C4 for it's first alignment after my PSS9 install. I can't figure out what specs to give them for ride height, toe and camber. Any suggestions?
  3. So I was doing the front PSS9 install on my 2000 C4 and everything went well until I torqued the nuts on the top of the spring strut mount in the bonnet. I sheared the rear bolt right off the strut mount. I've got some questions: 1) Does this matter 2) Should I replace with aftermarket sprint strut mount or OEM? 3) Are there aftermarket options? 4) What is the part number for the OEM mount? Thanks! -Ross
  4. Thanks! What size socket do I need? 340ft/lb is a lot! My torque wrench doesn't go that high...
  5. I'm trying to do the PSS9 installation and I'm having problems with the front. How do I disconect the driveshaft so I can get the old strut out?
  6. Anyone have more info on the C4 installation? What's the halfshaft and driveshaft nut look like? I'm doing the install sunday and can't seem to nail down the exact info for the C4 despite lots of searching...
  7. I have found installation instructions for the C2, but can't find anything detailed about the differences between the C2 and C4 installation. Tried searching, but nothing conclusive. I'm going to try the install this weekend, so any tips would be greatly appreciated! -Ross
  8. Was there any resolution on this? I think I'm having the same leak. I will need to clean everything to localize it though. Mine is a 2000 C4 with 60k miles.
  9. My driver side mirror is a bit loose. It's only the mirror part, not the housing. Is there a way to tighten it up? Do I need to replace it? It's a 2000 C4 coupe. Thanks!!! -Ross
  10. when i shut the doors there is a creek. i've isolated it to the side view mirrors. when i touch the mirror part with my finger it makes a very athoritative creeking sound. what's the best way to un-creekify em? Thanks, ross
  11. 2) Interesting... Would it be the fan even if the air is blowing but it's just not cold? the fan seems to be strong and stable... it's just the A/C... eh? 3) I've only had the car for 2 weeks. bought it with 20k and porsche cert. i've booked an appointment with the dealer to look into it. i doubt they would bleed the hydralics for me on a hunch... Thanks so much for the advice... i'll talk with the dealer and see what comes of things. at least it should be covered by cert or good will.
  12. 2) I wasn't clear, I was describing the sound of the A/C problem as sounding like a half-held brake 3) It's not the pedal feel... it's just that the car doesn't seem to respond the same to pedal input, such as not launching at same RPM (needing more RPM to launch) and also revving less freely. Also, on my commute today I noticed a more pronounced vibration that occurs in the cabin with noise that sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, which seems improbabale... could be my mind playing tricks on me.
  13. 50% of the time, with A/C on, generally when in warmer ambient temps the following occurs: 1) A/C does not produce cold air 2) weird noises that sound like brake noise when not holding pedal down at a stop on a hill, could be characterized as "mechanical straining sounds" or "groaning" 3) behavior of engine/clutch when starting from stop is not "normal" feeling The other 50% of the time the A/C works fine and blows cold air. Any ideas? car is a 6 speed 2000 C4 coupe
